Decent for the Price

Sep 28, 2005 by Mayo211

I enjoy this phone a litte more than my previous Siemens device. The phone itself isn't incredibly fancy, but it does have some pretty good features. I downloaded some ringtones, play on the internet, and like the fact that it is quite small.

I have not had the issue with the antennea that has been mentioned. Signal has been fairly good, considering I live on the side of a mountain with the tower on the other side. Battery life is as expected about 3-4 days with general use.

It's also a good entry level phone as the menu is easy to navigate. I have never had the phone zonk on me and to be honest, I have dropped it a couple of time andthe phone shrugged it off as if it was nothing. (we're talking concrete here, no carpet drops)

All in all a pretty decent phone for very little cost. I have seen people get upset because the phone wasn't all they had hoped it would be. Let me be honest for a second...what exactly did you expect for free?

Serenity stolen.

This phone provoked me to register for phonescoop primarily so that i could leave a bad review about it. My LG C1300 from cingular is a curse. "emergency only" "disconnected" "no reponse" "user busy".. These error messages are a constant thing. it tells me i have voicemail when i don't and when i actually get one, i can't connect to the voicemail box without seeing "no response" three or four times first. the phone stops doing whatever you're trying to do...saving a very important number for example, whenever you switch to a different tower. it just... stops everything in order to pick up a different signal. sometimes, if i don't run the battery out completely, it won't charge at all...and yes, those annoying keys on the side of the phone have caused the annoying ringtone to come blaring out at the most inappropriate times. Cingular has replaced this phone for me once and the replacement was also a dud. replacement number 2 comes in the mail Tuesday and i'm keeping my fingers crossed and saying a small prayer that it is even usable. why didn't i just pay the 19.99 for a decent phone?? a mirror on the front... it leaves me speechless.

pros:
it's free with new activation

cons:
malfunctions more than half the time

poor ringtone quality

pointless mirror

annoying buttons on the side which cause embarrassing ringtone blurts

stops all funtions to acquire new signal

Phone is VERY buggy, my backlight turns off, it would answer my call, sometimes it wont turn on/off. 2 other people i know have the same phone with the same problems

phone scratches easily.. that damn keypad..

no themes?

weird main ringtones

virtually NO memory! cuts the ringtone in HALF!

4 backgrounds.. woopie split..

no outside display.. wtf?! a mirror?! come on ..

flip hinge not sturdy

so...i'm talking about the G4015 here. It was a very good phone..for a while. I had the digital network and a Nokia but I dropped my phone in the toilet and had to switch to GSM which i hate.
Anywho--the phone is very light and slim, which was nice since I carried it in my back pocket. I thought it was a good, non flashy phone. The screen quality is good, but after a few weeks the screen scratches from the numbers. I liked how youcould put several numbers under the same name, but I did not like how if yousaved the number to SIM, it copied it twice. It was rather annoying.
The reception was very good in my area (North Alabama).
I have had the phone for about a year and a month ago it started having big problems, so I am switching phones. But it lasted a year, so I can't complain.

OK Phone

I have had this phone now for a couple months now. I am overall pleased with it and get good service in the central Ohio area. I do travel occasionally out of my home area and it seems to get good signal even in the remote areas of Kentucky for the most part.

This phone is the worst ever

Whoever thinks that this phone is a good investment, well just wait about six months. This phone has to be the worst phone ever to be put onto the market the company LG is bad enough but this phone is HORRIBLE I dont recomend anyone to buy this piece of junk. There all defective and they came out with the LG 1300i all that is, is a different antenna that doesnt matter. They are now go phones and can be bought a any kmart or target. Its a go phone seller for a reason people you gotta understand that.

Great Phone Without a Lot of Bling Bling

I have had my phone for about 10 months. I like the size of the phone overall, and the ease of using the dial buttons. You'll find the screen is very clear too. If I could change anything about it, it would be to be able to view the incoming caller ID without opening the phone. But, that's my own little preference.

-----------------------------
PROS:

*Perfect for carrying in your shirt pocket, pants pocket, or purse.

*The volume control on the outside works for the ear volume as well as the ring volume.

*You can identify the caller before you answer and choose to answer it or his "reject" and send them right to your voice mail. Nice.

*You can download voice tones or ring tones and graphics.

--------------------------------------

CONS:

*The screen develops little scratches where it touches the dial keys when closed. My husband has one just like it, and his too, has scrtaches.

*It does not have identifying rings so you know who is calling just by the ring tone.

*DON'T try to replace the outside cover! This phone has to be disassembled, and it can kill your phone just trying to replace the cover.

*If you're not looking to spend money on sending photos through your phone, this is a very good phone.

Good for a Teenager

Aug 6, 2005 by Colb6208

I'm a younger cell phone user and I had bought this with AT&T GoPhone and I loved the phone. Except the fact that they gave me the refurbished phone that I didn't ask for and it had some problems because of that. But basically I loved it.

Cingular had called me and told me that I needed to upgrade to Cingular GoPhone so I was concerned that they would cancel my service so I quickly got a new phone. I ended up getting the V220 from Motorola. I still have it and I miss my old G4015. Now they have that thing with the portability of nubmers but that doesn't work for GoPhones.

I love LG phones and this is a good buy if you are a teenager and don't want a very expensive jampacked phone with a lot of flashy features.

Pros- Tiny phone, Nice Screen (could be a bit bigger but I'm not gonna complain), Good service (Williamstown, PA).

Cons- Games that are preloaded are really bad because you have a certain trial number of plays, The annoying sound when you change something or send a message, No external Caller I.D., The realtones on AT&T's website were longer on the website and they ended up being $2.49 for a 4 second hard to hear realtone.

Overall, Like I have said, Good phone for a teenager not looking for a very expensive outrageous phone.

crap..
