Jan 24, 2006 by leyna20

Cons: This phone suck. Within the first couple of months it was blacking out.I had them echange it now it has not service at all,no where I go. And the battery will not stay charged long. It was a waste of money. I would not recomend the V220 to anyone.
Pros: the power button works. LOL

Dissapointing in the end

I bought this phone while I was under a 2-yr contract with another phone model with the same company, needless to say, I paid a hefty price - over $200.00 which in hindsight was NOT worth it!!! In general I didn't have much problems with the phone mechanically speaking until it got a little wet (not soaking wet) when a water bottle spilled on it. At first there was no screen display at all, I thought I broke the entire thing! Then a few days after it dried out, the screen would come in intermittently... annoying at the least, but it was nonetheless working. However, eventually the screen would hardly come on at all when I opened the flip... I'd have to open it and then press all the buttons and mess around with it until the screen popped on. All the while, any incoming calls would ring but I could never pick up the calls because the display was usually out. I thought these problems may have been due to it getting damp at one point, but after reading that others have had the same problem, now I am not so sure. I think it's just not a very reliable camera.

Junk!!!

As is every other Motorola phone I've ever owned, this one is also a piece of junk. It held on for a year, but owning this phone was not a pleasant experience. It drops calls all the time, crackles when you open and close it, and has the worst camera I've ever seen. I also can't understand people very well when I have them on speakerphone. The camera broke while I was on vacation, and now the screen doesn't work, either. The only reason I gave this one a score of 0.5 is that it lasted for a year. My last Motorola that I got free from Cingular had to be replaced 3 times in one year!! I don't fault Cingular - I've been a customer for about 4 years and have had a good experience with them for the most part. I'm going to try the free Samsung next, but I will never try a cheap Motorola again.

horrible phone

this phone stinks. There is no picture quality. (picture and screen quality stinks ) you cannot see the pictures your taking. there is no flash on the phone. my inside screen just stopped working for some reason...couldnt see anything. the phone is slow in all areas. not many ring tones. the phone sometimes turns off. not much picture memory at all. not much ringtone memory at all. the phone has also been discontinued (i just found out) my battery charger went as well as my battery. after the screen issue the battery stopped fully taking full charge. i charge it for 3-4 hours ...its full....then 1 hour later its down to one tick mark. it just stinks.. wounldnt recommend it to anyone.

POS X's 100

Over all EVERY call is either dropped or I go about 2 minutes without being able to hear what the other person is saying. Sometimes I can put up with it but this is every single time! Since I do a lot of business over the phone I have to get rid of it. I bought this phone for me, my two daughters and my brother bought it also. We ALL have problems with it. Both of my daughters screens went blank. I miss so many calls because the ringer is really low and when I used a headset the other person couldn't hear me.
Really listen don't buy this phone unless you want to be very unhappy. Or buy mine, make me happy, will be listed on Ebay cheap.

LOW BUDGET PHONE

I purchased this phone about 4 months ago and with in that period of time i dropped it atleast three times. The third time the screen went black and i couldn't see anything. I had to drop it again turn it off then turn it back on for it to work. I will never purchase another phone from motorola. And the thing that makes me so mad is my phone company charged me $150.00 for it. What kind of bull is that? Then i actually had to pay for an activation fee. Anyone who buys this phone will be a fool. I would not recommend this for a little child. This phone needs to be in the toy section for little elementary children. I HATE THIS PHONE!

V220 pink and black

well, it is quite good for its class, i also have e680i which is exceptional phone only could improve on the camera resolution. just like phones i have seen with 7mp.
V220 quad band phone is quite small and handy, it is a fully programmable phone , one can change any logos starting screens, customize menus and load with games,
but what is more important for me about it that it is small cute and can be used all over this planet, if you want a real toy get one of the with quad band GPS on windows PC and other goodies,

but for emergency or for show off is quite nice

i bought this fone just over a year ago. it started out gr8. it was my second fone and it was a huge step up from the nokia 3410...or so i thought. i was fascinated by the camera, but wat do you expect from a year 7? i spent the summer taking shots of my friends, dogs and my holiday. you take photos to remember good things, but there was nothing good about these photos. the pictures were so poor i could barely make out what they were. still, i am a texter. i spend most of my money on credit to send messages. only it took me about an hour to actually rite a txt and it wudnt send the messages until an hour later, and i wudnt recieve txts until a few days after they had been sent which often got me into trouble if they were urgent as my parents did not believe me wen i sed i hadnt recieved them. now a year later, it cuts off my calls wont let me read txts and often wont turn on. my parents wont believe me that it switches on and off and wont let me take calls as they are never there wen it does, mostly because i hav abandoned the fone and am using my old nokia 3410. i spent £130 on the fone as it had only just come out wen i bought it. wat a waste of money. my parents wud buy me a new one if they actually saw wat was rong with it, but they cant. so now i hav to buy a new fone myself. i am keeping clear of motorola fones from now on. my brother also bought a different motorola fone around the same time as me and is now getting a new one too, after his has broken. im now getting the samsung d600 and have red over 100 reviews to check it is worth the money. if only there had been that many reviews for me to read before i had wasted my money on this fone....

Run, Fast!

Cons:

Camera went out after 3 months.
Screen went out after 5 months.
Call volume very low, even on high.
Pictures taken were very low quality.
Camera program locked up frequently.
Phone shook if ring tone was too loud.
Message indicator never turned off.
Back light not very bright.
Screen could not be viewed in the sun.
Alarm clock difficult to use.
Caller id returns every couple of hours until you view the missed call.
Menu is very confusing.

Pros:

Text messaging easy to use.
Speed dial keys.
Calculator and date book.
Data transfer port on side.

I got this phone for free with my contract and I am so disjointed! I am having to buy a new phone after 5 months because the screen is out on it already. I don't use a cell phone as much as most people and I can tell you I didn't abuse it in any way. Not worth the money to send it for repair. Don't buy. It is work it to pitch down extra money to get a better phone.
