Solid!!!!

Sep 7, 2004 by shinko

I bought the VX7000 phone two weeks ago and think its a great phone. Prior to this I owned the a530 which was nice but IMHO the menu was not laid out very well. I was going to wait for the 8000 because I really didn't like the color of the 7000 plus the 8000 will have more features. After careful consideration I chose the 7000 and happy that I did. This phone is light but has a solid feel to it. Battery life has been great so far. The screen is sharp and bright even in daylight. The ear piece volume is very loud and it senses when theres too much background noise and boosts it even louder, like when riding in a car with the windows down. The RF is very strong and seems to be on par with my Samsung which was also good. I was in department store last week and tried to call the person who I was with in the store. She has the a310 and her phone would not receive my call but mine went through. I tried it again when I was standing next to her and the same thing happened, and I had no signal bars showing to boot. With my Samsung I always had to put the windows up to hear the other person. The menus on the VX7000 are very easy to navigate and edit especially with the large display. Many people including myself thought this phone was on the large side. After using it for a few hours I actually appreciate the size. It feels more natural in my hand when dialing and when talking into it. The blue front took some getting used to but now I like it. The blue part is rubberized making it very resistant to nicks and scratches. I tried the V710 and took it back because it felt fragile. The only thing I would change is the ability to turn off the colored flashing LED lights on the front of the phone. At times it may be useful but LG should have given us the option to make that decision. Maybe a future firmware release will fix it. Overall I think its a great phone and I'm happy with my purchase. No cell phone is perfect but this one is pretty close IMO.

VX7000 is a cool phone, it's better than V710

I love this phone so much since I've exchanged from my Moto V710. I love the phone from the first day I bought it. First thing I checked was the ear piece. Because I just have returned the V710 cause low ear piece. Low ear piece was annoying me, I could not hear people whenever I got a call or made a call. Also I hurt myself too, cause I tried to press the phone to my ear(tight and hard), so I could hear it. I had got a VX6000 but I gave that phone to my mom. That was my first LG and LG make good phones, not like Moto phones. Now I love LG phones
Pros:
Loud ear piece
262K internal colors screen
Impressive battery
Cool menu, easy to use
Swivel camera, etc....................
Now I am so excited cause I can make phone calls and I can hear what my friedns talk about. LOud EAR PIECE

Nice phone.

Alright, well I just bought my LG VX-7000 earlier today, and so far I like it. It's not nearly as big as some people say, but it is slightly bigger than your average flip-phone. Both displays are crystal clear. The menus are bright and pleasant, and very easy to navigate. The one touch to the camera is also very nice. As with other cell phones, it does take some time to get acquainted with. The ringtones are loud and clear, and can be chosen to differ with different alerts. [eg. a different ringer for text messages than an incoming call.] I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone that wants the full package and is willing to pay the slightly high price.

Great Phone

Aug 29, 2004 by Moose12988

I was recently searching for a new cell phone from verizon. The choice was b/w this LG and the Samsung sch-a670. I did alot of research on both phones and the choice was definitely LG. It is such a better phone. The camera quality is much better for pics and videos. Also you can save more pics and vids on the LG than the samsung. The only thing that the samsung has that is beter than the LG is the price. The samsung comes with the same features as the LG, but they are of less quality, but the samsung cost is alot less. So if u have the money, buy the LG. If you dont want to spend that much on a phone, then get the samsung.

pros-
great pic/vid quality
easiest menu on any phone
picture id
outside LCD is great
great backlight
energy saver (after about 30 seconds, the phone goes to sleep mode and saves ur battery)
easy keypad
great backlight
camera starts as soon as you press the button (no waiting or loading)
calls are very clear (like a house phone)

cons-
no speakerphone
price is expensive

Good, but not perfect

I’m an LG fan. I bought the LG TM-510 the first week it was out. That was over 3 years ago and that phone just kept on going. In between there I was occasionally drawn away to other phones (namely the Moto T720). Folks, the quality just isn’t there on the other brands.

PROS
- Solid feel
- Nice flashy ring
- Big, brilliant display
- Good still camera (for a phone)
- The flash for the phone works well
- Good video – good sound quality (the sound is actually on with the video and it is loud)
- Good sound quality
- Vibrates nice and hard, but not loud
- Excellent menu system
- LG signature ease of use - they have kept the things that make these phones easy to use (for instance holding the * for manner mode) and improved upon the other things.
- Fast camera – no waiting for it to save, etc.
- Nice size
- Loud rings
- Really loud ear-piece volume
- Good battery life (but not exceptional)
- Good signal strength (but not exceptional)

CONS
- Can’t get “Verizon Wireless” off of external display
- Can’t change red menus
- Can’t make exterior display stay on all the time
- No speakerphone
- No tri-mode
- When answering, you can’t just flip open and say “hello”. You have to wait a second for the phone to recognize you opened it.
- No light for video
- Have to press save for each picture taken
- No cradle charger available (I’m a 2 battery type of guy)
- Up on directional pad starts internet browser – this is something I don’t use and it is unchangeable
- You can’t tell if the phone is on vibrate without opening it

To me the most important things about a phone are signal strength, battery life, ease of use, and ability to take abuse. This phone is average in the signal and battery, but really shines in ease of use and ability to take abuse.

I really like this phone.

Was a little concerned when I purchased the phone because it is digital only. Coming from a Samsung A310 that was perfect and Tri-mode I thought I might not be happy with just a digital signal. I was wrong. Have not been in any area yet that I have not received a signal. I am sure that when I am in the mountains that it will not have a signal, but my old phone did not either. So far, so good.

Size: well the 7000 certainly not being the smallest phone on the market. But I don’t think it is huge either. If you put it next to the 6000 or even the A670, it is not that much bigger. So this does not bother me in the least.

Camera: It’s a camera. I think it takes very nice photos “for a phone”! I own quite a bit of photo equipment, so I am a little more critical on this than most. If you want the best quality photo’s you can get, buy a camera. If you would like to take quick shots, use photo id’s for callers and nice custom wallpapers than this is a great phone for that.

Video: 15 seconds worth. You can send it to others. Cool idea. Probably won’t use it that much. It is choppy but again it is a phone, not a camcorder.

Screen: best color screen I have seen yet. Don’t take my word for this. Go see it.

Sounds: great ringer and ear volume. Full and rich sound. Much better than any other phone that I have played with. Although not for me, you can down load ring tones to this phone.

Menu: LG shines here. The menu is great. Very easy to use and to navigate through.

Others have complained about the color of the phone and the lights on the front. Neither one of these things have bothered me. Battery life has been great! Much longer than most phones that I have used. The only phone that seems to last longer (standard battery) would be my buddies Samsung A610.

The only con that I can think of would be that I can’t lock single phone book entries.

Please feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.

Great Phone!

Jul 11, 2004 by Lauren7178

I had been waiting for this phone to come out for a while and I am so happy to have it now!

The Pros:
Great reception
User Friendly Menus (similar to my old LG)
Camera quality very good
Rotating camera lens is cool because you can take pictures with the phone closed.
Flash for pictures very helpful
Has video
Color LCD on outside of phone
Picture ID on outside LCD
Plus, many more...

The only Con I have for the phone is the size. I wish it wasn't so big, but it is actually easier to talk on because of it. It actually looks bigger than it is because it is boxy. When I compared it to the 6000 it was only a little bigger. Plus, with all the cool things it does, it has to be big!

Overall, I am really happy with this phone!

The Bomb

I absolutely love this phone!! I am a very picky person when it comes to any phone I get. I can honestly say that this phone is the great. I love that I can make my own ringtones.....and make them last as long as I want! The only thing I wish I had on my phone was a speaker phone.

its a great phone it has all the features that i want and the size doesn't really matter to me and the two LCD screens are the best to view and it always ring loud enough to hear and it has the most style that i have ever seen and if anything it is th absolute best of them all and i like the fact that you can put your banner on the main screen or on the front screen on the outside of the phone and you can see the caller id on the outside of the phone so if you don't own it already it is a great buy at an affordable price and is loaded with features
