PAPER WEIGHT

Jul 19, 2005 by Arik

I have had this phone for a while now and it is the worst phone I've ever had.

Pros:
not much other than i can play games on it.
Cons:
bad camera, the memory is horrible. It kicks me off the Internet all the time. it freezes up on me. i have to take the battery out and re-boot it.

Do not buy this phone it is a waist of time and money. You will have problems from day one.

Moto V300 is awesome

Jul 5, 2005 by iloveMOTOV300

Yes, I don't understand why you all complain about this phone. I have had this phone for 3 months and I love it. I have never had a phone that I want to keep forever. The Motorola V300 is such an awesome phone, and so is the Moto V330, Moto V551, Moto Razr, and the Moto V400.

Good news,

T-Mobile just brought back the V300 and they are giving it away online for new customers! Free with just a one year contract! I knew they would have the sense to bring this awesome phone back on the market!

I Heart Moto V300!

to all the haters out there...

well actually this is the best phones I've had. i have had all the virgin mobile phones and they are not easy to use.

The goods about this phone, the menus are straight-forward, excellent features, very sturdy, excellent reception, the outside "skin" has a nice soft feel to it, camera is average and better then v265, you can take fairly good pictures of something on the computer screen, when other phones have troubles with that, BIG BRIGHT screen, an easy voice button on the side of the phone, speakerphone is pretty loud, AOL Instant Messenger, battery lasts 3 days WITHOUT charging it.

if you like modding, this is the best phone to get. just get a cable, and you can do EVERYTHING to it. it doesnt break easily.

there are not many bads, with some edits, can be fixed, the sound buttons on the side make a noise when in your pocket.

Very Buggy

Jun 18, 2005 by time326

I've had this phone for over a year now and I'm very disappointed with it. If you purchase it, you have a very good chance of getting a buggy phone, though not all of them are. I've had lots of problems with dropped calls after about 12-15 min, even with full reception. The phone will stay connected and you have to shut down and restart or take out the battery to get it to disconnect. I've had to take out the battery every couple of months when the bugs start to occur too frequently. I've also had my screen go white for about 10 seconds then come back. If you are outside it is impossible to hear anything!!! And you can't turn the volume up. Recently my battery was dying after a few hours on standby so once again I had to take it out and it seems to be better for now. I've also had some issues where the speakerphone operation fails, the volume button on the side won't work, and problems connecting with the charger. Again, taking the battery out will fix some of these problems for a time. I would not recommend this phone due to these problems, though the features, when working, are nice.

If crap had a name it would be Motorola V-300

This is quite possibly the worst phone ever created. At first I was excited by all of the shiny bells and whistles but after a while discovered the the phone tended to drop calls around the 12-15 minute range. After a call to T-mobile I discovered that this was a problem well known and common to most v-300's and that the phone had to be power cycled at least once a day. About that same time my wife's phone, also a Motorola v-300, froze and required removing the battery in order to reset it. Over the next few months this became a recurring problem with her phone and of course by this time my phone began dropping calls within 15-30 seconds, often right after people would answer (Quite rude). I called t-mobile back and they agreed to swap my wifes phone and had me switch my sim card to my old phone and use it for a few days. Of course my trusty samsung, old and well used, functioned flawlessly. After several more calls to T-mobile they finally agreed to send me a replacement for my phone. We now have two refurbished v-300 pieces of crap and expect more problems in the future, especially after talking to T-mobile reps who off the record admit the phones software is crap... All in all, a big disappointment because when the phone functions its features are awesome. Oh, also as a side note we decided what the heck and downloaded tetris on my wifes phone again about 20 minutes ago and it just froze and locked up... If crap could be wrapped up, packaged nicely in an atomic blue shell, and given away by a cell phone company it would be called the Motorola V-300.

Moto V300- won me over

Apr 25, 2005 by lefteyeiu2002

I have done a lot of background checks on this phone before finally buying it. I was attracted to it because it looks so attractive and it has a camera and is compatible with my favorite mobile game: Gulo's Tale. I read the other reviews on here and decided not to buy the phone because of the more negative comments. Finally I decided I had to have it, and I got it on clearance at Target. Wow! I always thought Motorola phones were crap, but the V300 has won me over to the Motorola line.

Pros:
Colorful display
easy menu
Hi-Fi ringers
Camera
Great WAP internet!
Attractive phone
Cool keypad
decent signal
Clear reception
You can mix your own poly tones with Moto Mixer
Fun phone to have
When you get a call, the phone automatically answers upon opening the flip.
Headset works great, and you can close the flip while using headset or speaker phone mode!!!

Few cons I found:
Battery life shorter than my old nokia phone
Menu is a little slow
when I am on the phone, the time is not displayed.

The cons are not all that bad. So far I have not had any problems with the phone. I love it! I am a huge Nokia fan, but honestly Nokia could never make a phone as fun as the Motorola V300.

I give this phone a 5. It is a great phone that you will never get tired of having!

El Perfecto!!

This is the best phone I have ever used.I have used other phones like Sony Ericsson T637 and Motorola Mpx200.This phone beats them hands down.Great reception, very good battery life, colorful screen, awesome camera, loud and clear speakerphone. What more do you need?I didn't like my other Motorola because it had terrible battery life and very weak reception. And the I just didn't like the camera on the T637 other wise the phone would of been very good. There is 3 things I didn't like about this phone. No Bluetooth and No MP3 Player(Even tho the phone supports MP3 ringtones) and the Phones Memory.Overall I love this phone and I think it would be keeping me company for a long time.

Pros:
-Awesome Camera
-Great Reception(Usually Stays on 4 Bars)
-Speakerphone(Loud and CLear)
-Pretty Good Battery Life
-External Display(Cool Blue)
-MP3 Ringtones
-Bright and Colorful Screen
-Very good looking(Dont really like the blue tho but really like the feel and texture of the faceplate)

Cons:
-No Bluetooth(Would have been a good feature to include)
-No MP3 Playback(Why would the phone support MP3 ringtones and not be able to play FULL Music Tracks? WIERD)
-Only 5MB of Memory(At least 15MB would of been nice)
-5 Way Arrow Keys(To close to the other keys)

Still a very good PHONE and I highly recommend it to anyone expecially TEENAGERS!

A Pretty Good Phone

This is the first camera phone I've owned however I'm pretty much familiar w/ Motorola products having had a v60 and a t720.

The v300 is a bit on the chunky side. When you pick this puppy up, you can tell it has some heft to it. It's wider and heavier than other clamshell phones. The "soft" and grippy cover makes the phone easy to hold and pretty secure in the hand.

The external LCD has a blue backlight and a reverse background (light characters, dark background) display that makes it easy to see in the dark. The camera lens is above the LCD and It would have been nice to have a cover to shield the lens fm dust and fingerprints. The small size of the lens makes it dificult to clean decently.

All that is forgiven once the clam shell is opened and that big pretty screen is revealed. There are plenty of options for changing the wallpaper image, backlighting, etc. Users have the option to hide the t720 style options display for the 5-way navigator key, but they will have to remember what options they mapped to which part of the key.

I'll have to get used to the weird keypad. It's well backlit, but the oddball ovals and circles are an acquired taste.

Like the newer Motorola phones, all sorts of options exist to modify settings. The main menu is easy to navigate w/o reading the manual.

Like I said, this is my first camphone, so I have nothing else to compare it to, but I found it easy to use, and the pictures are pretty much what is expected for a camera phone. Max resolution is 640x480.

I like the ability to play mp3 ringtones although I'd love to be able to get rid of some of the kiddy images embedded in the image files. Plenty of room (5mb) for pictures, games, etc. But a SD slot would be even better.

The CPU gets bogged down occasionally, but I haven't seen the bugginess that has been reported by others. Battery life is pretty good, the battery guage showed 3 bars for about 3 days, then faded quickly.

A pretty good phone.
