Love it!

Nov 8, 2011 by mifrancis

Love the 9900. Went to the torch after having the 9000 for many years because I wanted the touch screen (and keypad). Now I have exactly what I wanted, back to the Bold (with an even better keypad)and the touch screen. Fast, no bugs, a pleasure to use. Don't understand the review that mentioned how buggy it was and how the battery life is bad (I have not had any problems). Wonder if this person goes to switch application to see how many programs are running in the background. Some programs keep running if you don't use the menu to close them. The build is solid (better then the 9000), it is so much lighter then the 9000 and the torch. The only con is that there are some programs that I use that have not been updated for os7 but none of these programs are a must have for me.

Awful phone, very few merits. Buggy.

I waited with anticipation for this BB to come out - oh it was supposed to be SO good and quick and smooth to work. The reality?....

This is the 3rd BB 9900 in 3 weeks! The first handset was broken, the 2nd couldn't load the browser and the 3rd - constantly gives error messages for VVM, browser sticks constantly and the touch screen is buggy.

The O/S looks nice, but the touch screen is too quick to respond sometimes and at others will stick and not move. It makes it very difficult to get to the information I need and requires a "reboot" a few times daily.

The battery life is APPALLING. I charge fully overnight and within 1 hour of switching it on I'm down a bar. I only use the BB for taking calls (not many), surfing the web and answering emails - so am not a heavy business user. The battery will only get through half a day - thank God for car chargers.

I spoke with a BB representative who told me that the company is banking on the popularity of the phone's 'hybrid' of touch screen and qwerty appealing to business as well as personal users. I've found that it fails on both counts - as a business user will get frustrated with the kinks and a touch-screen fanatic will find it isn't quick enough.

It is probably the BB with the most bugs that I have ever owned. I'm taking this back to T-Mobile tonight and 'downgrading' to the 9780 which is a far better phone in all respects.

PRO's
Large qwerty keyboard - ideal for those sending lots of emails

CON'S
Where to begin? Buggy, crashes all the time, loads pages you haven't clicked on, crashes when you try to go back a page on the browser, software error messages, battery life is dire and the mix of touch screen and menus - doesn't work well for either preference.

Save yourself the money (in my case $600) and get something cheaper.

Rim is far from dead!

I've been using the line of blackberry's for quite sometime and recently felt like Rim was leaving a lot of it's faithful followers in the lurch while other mfgs come out with these "super smartphones"

I had left BB and went to the iphone 4 for about a solid month while still occasionally placing my sim card back into my Torch just cause...

Yesterday I picked up a Bold 9900 and set this thing up and have not been able to put it down since. I mean this thing is a beautiful enhanced remake of the Bold 9000! The screen is so crisp and sharp, the keyboard is second to none and finally yes finally the web browsing experience is comparable to that of my iphone 4.

I couldn't be more happier with my purchase, it's like I have found my happy medium.

Pros: Keyboard,screen,web,call quality,battery life....etc...

Cons: No phone is perfect...but this one is for me and the only con is that I have yet to find one!
