Great Quality phone

Aug 22, 2003 by deelight10

This phone is solidly constructed. Color display inside is excellent. Outside display is OK. Turns into a mirror when it is not on. Sound quality is excellent. The best i have ever heard from any phone. Web browsing could be a little better. Predictive text input is OK. but you can easily switch modes. Battery life is good in comparison to phones like T720. Small, lightweight attractive styling. small button but not overly. NO holster available?? Two features they forgot, voice dialing and voice memos. If those two plus the holster had been added this would have been the perfect phone.

Still probably the best flip phone without too many bells and whistles.

Great phone

I love this phone because it is user friendly similar to the Nokia menu logic.

The phone is very light and the colors are very vibrant.

I love the free downloaded games that came with the phone Bowling and Pac Man which is very high quality and arcade style.

Only thing is the headset from Samsung (which I had to fork out money to get) is on the soft side to my callers and the battery talk time is not as long as a Nokia 8265 which I used to have.

Very tough!

I really love samsung phoens. the engineering is excellent. i got the phone preowned from a friend and his dog had gotten ahold of it damaging the front around the screen, but everything worked. I got it wet a couple of times, but really all wasnt that hard on it dropping the phone wise, until i dropped it and broke the hinge losing the screen functionality.

I really loved this phone. The games and ringtones were entertaining, I keep hearing the 1,2,3,4,5 one in my head! lol. The phone had some really fun games, supported t9 and that is what i use the most on all phones, besides my qwerty samsung intensity which is my personal phone

The battery life was superb on this phone. the charger was left at a friends house, and actually survived with 2 bars until 1 week!

Peeved!!

Hope the title caught your attention!! I have had the this model for almost a year and would not trade it for anything. The clarity is awesome even in rural areas and in Oklahoma there are several. The size is the best. At first I was afraid I would lose it but it fits in almost every pocket w/out being noticeable. The ringtones are great and its easy to download new one's. I work for a cellular call center and on average I maybe get 1 unhappy person out of the month who has this phone. When questions are asked of me pertaining to this phone it is so easy to help because this phone has a simple layout of menu options. Using the functions is not complicated or involved. Of course always check the phone before you walk out of a store but I say no worries with this one!!!

Tiny and Sleek

Having this phone buying it in mid October last year, this was a phone that caught my eye. I went to the store to see it and I couldn't believe how small it is. Here in Chicago on the GSM Cingular service this was my first phone. Good to Start with!

PROs

-Phone is the size of a small KIT-KAT bar when closed! Easy to carry.
-Great color display.
-Easy menus
-Great games (4) included
-Ring tones are loud and clear.
-Color external Call ID
-Great reception in all areas around Chicago.
-Infrared capable.

CONs

-Phone may be too small for some people.
-Color screen is not visible in sunlight.

Thats about all the CONs, this is a simple phone and great to start out with!

Love this phone!

I love this phone. The only con that I have about this phone is that it doesn't have a camera, but I don't really need one of those anyway! I love it! It's so compact!

Excellent

This phone has excellent reception. Its menus are easy to navigate. I like the ability to change the service light color. Quite a few wallpapers to choose from. Only a few good ring tones. I love the size of it. I'd be nice if it had a camera. Theres only one problem with it, the front screen turns off automatically. I have no clue on how to turn it off. Its easy to work around though. Overall great phone for someone on the go. Fits in your pocket nicely.

I LOVE IT

I absolutly love this phone. I had my last Nokia 8260 for 3 years before Cingular in the Dallas, TX market picked up a phone I thought was small enough. I get great reception everywhere I go. I get much better reception in West TX compared to most people I have talked to.

Pros: size, address book, GPRS capable, to do list, multiple alarms, vibrant color screen

Cons: no bluetooth, not voice activated

Best Phone Offered

Mar 10, 2004 by qt690000

I have been working in the wireless industry for over 8 years. This has been by FAR the BEST phone-performance wise. I read through all of the reviews and a few of them sounded like the user just didn't know how to use the phone. One thing that stuck out in particular was someone said they didn't like the fact that you had to open and shut the phone for the outside LCD to light up, in order to see the time and date and that they wish you could just use the up/down volume keys to light it up. Well, the truth is...you can use the volume keys. All you have to do is PRESS AND HOLD the volume button and SURE ENOUGH--the very visible COLOR external LCD will illuminate.
I have had this phone with Cingular service in the Midwest area since it was introduced at the end on June 2003. Sure it doesn't have a camera or voice activated dialing but would you really choose having those features over having both phenomenal signal strength and battery power?
This phone is very user friendly, has by far the best battery of any phone on the market, polyphonic ringtones more clear and more loud than most phones out and more detailed color (65K) LCD.
I recommend this phone to all my customers. For Cingular customers that don't want to spend over $100 on a phone please check out the Samsung X427, which is another excellent Samsung product at a lower price. And for those customers that need a camera built in, keep your eyes peeled for the upcomimg Samsung P107 w/camera.

The smallest folder I've ever seen

Jun 16, 2003 by James Battle

This is an "almost" exact duplicate of T-Mobile's S-105 in a small package is how a Samsung Rep first introduced this to me.

PROS:
very small and incredibly light
65,000+color screen is gorgeous
Good battery life
Ring tones are LOUD (louder than the T720, or nokia 3590, for example)
Great software design
Great starting price (check around, one national retailer has it for $149.99 with a one year contract)
Very clear and loud sound quality for incoming calls.
In (very limited) testing it retained full service connection.

CONS:
and this seems quite important, worth 1.5 overall points: The microphone seems a little poorly designed. Having someone call me on the phone, it sounded muffled, far away, or "digitized" like talking to someone over X-Box LIVE.

I dunno, I'm in the camp that a phone is a phone and the basics come first. I am really picky on voice quality and reception. If you're looking for style, cuteness, or customization, look no farther. This is definately the coolest folder Cingular has ever offered, but I'd DEFINATELY take advantage of any trial period you can get when purchacing the phone and test out it's reception and voice transmittal.
