aint no good no mo'

Oct 24, 2005 by lgphone_man

Although my phone is nearly 2 years old, it has given me a million problems throughout the last year. Almost all my buttons barely work anymore, my battery actually broke off for no reason and has to be held together with tape (real ghetto!) and the battery itself dies within hours of being charged all night long. Although it was good to me for a while, I would strongly discourage anyone from getting this phone!

Eh...

I bought this phone when I switched from ATT wireless (now cingular). I am in a suburb of a small town and getting service with ATT was difficult. It usually came down to setting my phone in the window and using a headset.

I switched to Verizon because of the "iN" network. I get fairly decent service with the phone yet the software and durability of the phone is questionable. I am a 20 y/o male that works at a gas station while going to college. Needless to say I am rough on my products. NEwho here's the pro-cons

*-PROS-*
-lightweight (not bulky or heavy)
-decent service (better if you buy and extendable ant. off ebay)
-loud ringers
-strong vibrate
-Get it now easy to use
-good camera function in outdoor sunlight
*-CONS-*
-easily breakable (i went through two cases due to cracks along the directional keys and soft keys)
-lack of a flash makes the camera useless indoors (unless you have a flourescent lighting).
-software gliches keep causing the phone to lock up and battery removal is the only thing that will reset the phone
-no external color screen.
-vibrate so strong/loud that you might as well have the ringer on.

Very Weak Reception

Aug 31, 2005 by lillu0314

I exchanged the LG4500 for the LG6000 I now own. The 4500 I thought didn't have a great display but the 6000 one has an excellent one.

Cons:
- bad/weak reception (Sometimes it doesn't ring. I find out I had a call when my VM ring tone goes off; drops calls when I'm in my office (Arlington, VA) due to weak reception);

- no sound alert for VM or txts other than the initial one;

- has no speaker...the 4500 did!

- I have had to replace the battery on my LG because it doesn't stay attached to the phone w/o a rubberband, but this kills the battery faster for some reason (I had a Motorola Timeport before this LG and the Moto had excellent reception and worked well despite my having dropped it a few times.)

Pros:
- I rarely get complaints with sound on this phone (I also have a Jensen headset which works very well, but I think that is more the headset than the phone);
- good size, weight, feel;
- ease of use is excellent;
- tip calculator/alarm/schedule/address features are excellent
- takes good quality pix in good light

I'm sure each phone has its own set of pros and cons and every user has her/his own requirements, however, after just a 1.5 years of owning this phone, I'm ready to go back to the Motorola.

Do not buy this phone

Aug 23, 2005 by madden

I bought this phone about 7 months ago thinking it was a pretty cool phone...little did i know how many problems it has.

The phone can get water damage from humidity, and apparently the little white dot behind the battery turns pink if it has, if the dot turns pink the warrenty is void..thats crap just a way for verizon to make money once the phone has water damage it resorts to car kit where you can do everything but speak in to the phone and hear the other person talk, pretty important stuff

The phone has bad reception

The phone has echoing problems making it hard to hear

and the phone is so delicate that the slightest drop can affect how it works the phone is also discontinued probabbly because of all the problems...do not buy

the white caper

pros: its a good phone. some of the ring tones are fun and the get it now is very easy to use. and its cheep to get the ring tones.

Cons: the camera isn't all that great. and a couple of days ago it went white. i couldn't see a thing. so i got a new one from the verison and i had trouble activating it so i sent that back and now i am in the process of getting a new one.

but over all when its not white its a good phone.

It's been good to me

Well I had this phone for over a year and it's been great for me. I like it a lot.

Pros:
Great Reception
Easy to figure out after a minute of playing with the phone
LOUD ringtones
Vibrate is strong
Front screen is bright and easy to read
Great for personalization to make it your own
Big font when dialing
Voice Dialing
Good looking
Long lasting battery when doing nothing
Wonderful Colors lol

Cons:
Bad Camera (but it is only a phone)
No flash either
Gets really hot when you use it for a long period of time
Battery drains quickly when using Get It Now
Kinda thick for my taste
Low picture memory(only 20)
Very organized

Over all it's a great phone, especially for the younger crowd..It's worth the money you pay for it =)

BEST PHONE I'VE HAD TO DATE!!

Jul 23, 2005 by NY8100GUYS

I like everything about this phone.

Fit and finish are beautiful.

Menus are easy and intuitive.

Camera is better than adequate for a cellphone.

The great sound is what originally sold me on this phone.

I came off an Audiovox analog phone which had super good sound, so I wanted something close to that.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the LG-6000 surpassed my expectations.

I just tried a later model of LG, but it has some software issues, so I just had my 6000 reactivated. It's GREAT!

If you have a 6000, HOLD ON TO IT, if for nothing else, to use as a backup!

When I find something to equal or surpass it, I'll think about deactivating it again.

I'm giving this phone a 5.0+ !!!

I wouldnt buy it again

Pros: The phone hasnt ever had any serious problems...its a relativeley cheap phone

Cons: The pictures are horrible on this phone... sometimes when im doin txt msgs.. the phone will either turn it self off on its own for some reason...or the txt will show blank and i have to reset my phone myself to make them come back...note this doesnt happen very often

Anyways the phone seemed to have great reception at first....but now that i have had it for a bout a year now...i get horrible reception.. im lucky to get full reception in a open field under a tower... i always seem to havee 3 of the 5 bars no matter wat im doing or where im at...this is the only thing that would make me seconde doubt this phone...but its a huge deal i think
