Not that Bad

Jan 2, 2005 by Keepin It Real

It's not that bad. It does what it's supposed to do and it's easy to use. It stinks that it's not in color, but I saw the new one is in color. Not to many thing's to brag about though.

GARBAGE IN A TINY PACKAGE!!

THIS IS THE WORST PHONE EVER!!! I had this phone for 6 month and the battery life was terrible, it had horrible recpetion. If you buy this you must be on goofballs. Why do you think Motorola discontinued this modle so fast? Cus it is garbage. Everybody I know who has had this phone ALL experienced the same problems regardless of who their carrier was!!! DO NOT GET THIS!!!

not even useful as a paperweight

This phone doesn't work. Do NOT get it. You will not be able to hear the person you are calling or the call simply won't go through or you will be hung up on.

It's not the service because I share the service with my family who has better models that work fine.

Nice phone, garbage battery

My first cel phone. Finish wears off quickly if carried in pocket. Standby and talk time great when new. Battery seems to last about four months, at which time it needs to be plugged in to function more than a few minutes. Motorola will continue to replace battery under warranty, then you're on your own. I don't recommend this phone to anyone who isn't willing to replace the battery themselves. Motorola didn't make it easy.

The battery is user replaceable if you're the handy type; Superstore in Canada has Game Boy Advance Lithium Ion batteries 3.8v 700mAH for under $5 now. (GBS-313) It requires near complete disassembly of phone, including 5 torx screws holding keypad/display in place. Battery is sandwiched under keypad. The GBA battery must be stripped of extras, like the charging pcb and wrapping on back and sides. Check polarity, as it's probably OPPOSITE of the original battery. GBA battery is slightly thicker, but fits well.

Remove lint/dust from phone while apart, especially the contacts to mic and earpiece. Just wipe it off. Re-assemble and you'll have a good phone again.

Cute

This is phone is really cute. But there are alot of flaws in the technology. It freezes sometimes when the alarm goes off. When you try and disarm the alarm, it freezes and you would have to pop open the back and batteries and close it back up. It happens probably once a week. Sometimes it freezes when someone calls. You wouldn't get a miss call so you won't know if someone called until you look at your phone and realize the time froze. You would then have to take out the battery and put it back in. Turn on your phone and then find out you have a voicemail. No wonder why verizon discontinued this model. I wonder if the new model C343 is freezes all the time too.

Finally a cool no-flip phone

I am a cop and carry my phone in my shift pocket so a flip phone is not my style. It seems that the cellular industry is catering towards flip phones. I was really pleased when I saw this phone and it was a motorola too so my extra battery from V120 and my cig cord would work. I love this phone and have converted alot of the guy in my beat to this fine piece, no problems other than motorola does not make many accessories for the phone.

Love it so far...

I love it so far. It has the size, shape, and most of the features that I would like in the phone, without having the color screen that I so beg for but am too cheap to by for myself. :-)

The only cons I have about the phone is the fact that you cannot download ringtones through WAP, or the fact that it doesn't have Get It Now... Other than those 2 things, I am completely happy.

The battery life, at least on mine, is exceptional, and I have no problems with the phone, although, sometimes, even with keypad locked, if you put it in your pocket and it presses the * or # keys, you will hear a beep from your phone....

Well, all I can say is I am really happy with it...
