Behodl II should be Behold POS

Dec 1, 2009 by boomtastic

this thing is the Millennium Edition of phone catastrophe's it hangs, it drags. its a pain in the butt.

hard to use, old interface, junk GUI. the cube thing is stupid its a 6 app cube....WTF is the point of that all the shortcuts are right next to it. I don't see a bonus at all.

guess whats going back to the store to get replaced by a bold or some other version of a real phone.

the screens gorgeous, the looks are sleek, the phone overall is a definite no frigging way. go get one but make sure you can take it back, cause you will hate it. mind you i loved the instinct this is no instinct. i don't care what anyone says about it.

This thing is locked up half the time anyways.

LOTS BUG ......RUSH JOB! Shame on you Samsung!!

Nov 24, 2009 by tester

Lots of software bugs. What bad mesh of touchwiz and andriod. Lots of missing features that are available on normal andriod devices. When using a regular headset without a mic, the phone still thinks the headset has mic, so it does not activate the internal mic. So if you bought some really expensive headset, it won't work!! Speaker phone is bad, the mic does not work well. Battery life is also bad, I'm charging mine every day, with normal use. Camera sucks, that is , once you start to use the zoom, it's blurry, so zoom is pointless!! Oh and the big one, tmobile tech support is not trained on the phone, samsung customer service, also doesn't know much, so you are on your own. If they quickly fix these bugs, the phone will be a good unit. But till then....DON'T BUY IT YET!! WAIT FOR BUG FIXES!!

Quality Device!

Nov 21, 2009 by Unreachablefait

I got this phone the first day it was out. And I must admit that I am very impressed. Samsung really did this one up nice. Being the proud owner of almost every andriod device so far, I have to say that this phone blows the rest out of the water. The 3g connectivity is fantastic, the camera is nothing like you would find on an HTC device. It takes great pictures and reloads very fast. It also has the best screen i've seen yet. Great call quality, fast data, great mulitmedia functions, and 3.5 mm headphone jack!! Another gereat thing that must be noted is the battery life. . For an andriod phone this is really great. Out of heavy use (and i mean really heavy abuse) i got more than a day out of it. The keyboard is probably the best touch screen keyboard i've ever used. much better thstn the mytouch. Touch wiz UI can get a little confusing with all the menus but it just takes some getting used to. If you want a quality andriod decive that doesnt die every 2 hours or feels like a toy when you hold it, then this phone is def. for you.

Behold ! A new Samsung Phone

Nov 19, 2009 by jpg01

I was one of the first to get the Samsung Behold II yesterday from T-Mobile and while I was doing so, was disappointed to find out that the processor was only a 528Mhz ! Sprint has and earlier version which comes with a 800 Mhz CPU. Getting this phone was a trade for the MyTouch 3g (528Mhz, 198 internal RAM). While it has an upgraded camera (5Mpx with flash) I did fine its zoom feature to be a bit blurry at half to max magnification. As for the TouchWiz media cube, I am trying understand the need for this as there is banner at the bottom of the screen that offers access to the same features, why ?? As for the USB port, it is on top of the phone, which makes it difficult the charge the phone and talk at the same time. In addition, this port seems to proprietary usb, or must be a new standard, current mini usb cable will not fit. It is snappy and there are some quick access options to Wifi, Bluetooth and others from the notification bar, however, duplication of accessing apps and features is very much apart of this phone. It feels lighter than the iPhone and is about 1 -2 mm thicker . They say it will be able to run Andriod 2.0 when it is out, I wonder how it will the perform due to the processor and limited internal RAM. One great thing, I did not have to sign into to Google before I was able to use the phone ! thanks Samsung.

Bottom line, it is a good phone. Andriod is Andriod and Samsung is Samsung. It has some good features once you get use to them. I fell it needs an update from Samsung to make a few things work better, however, this should not stop any one from purchasing this phone. It is better than the MyTouch 3G, but not the competitor the HTC Hero (which is really fast). I rate this phone as a 3.5 to 4 stars, however, its early days. I hope Samsung and Google will keep me feeling this way ( and get the update out very soon), if not better !! I'm hoping for better.

Worst Phone I Have Ever Had

May 22, 2010 by TwiztidFate

I don't even know where to begin. This phone does a lot, and for what it is, works. But in all honesty this has to be the worst thing i have ever spent money on. This may be more of a situational complaint but here are the problems that I had (soon to get new phone).

1. Right out of the box before I even put extra apps on the phone, touchwiz interface lags....bad.
2. Still have not been successful in getting the phone to send picture messages on a consistent basis.
3. For such a small screen a physical keyboard is a must. Very small letters make it hard to make accurate keystrokes. They keyboard lags really bad when typing faster than 1 letter a second, then stops registering keystrokes while lagging.
4. The lock button is flush with the face of the phone making it hard to press when trying to unlock your phone with any speed at all.
5. The apps that are on the phone that you will NEVER use are stuck there for good, and some are very bulky apps that take up a lot of space.
6. This is a t-mobile exclusive phone and will probably never run Android 2.0 (Eclair) which i think would vastly improve this phones.
7. Cube is useless, laggy, and ugly. You cant even customize what is on the cube, wouldn't matter if you could because the thing hardly works right.
8. Battery life.... doesn't have one. Battery dies easily within 24 hrs with minimal use.

There is still plenty more, but lets get to the Pro's
1. Beautiful screen. Amazing display.
2. Camera is phenomenal. Easily best camera on any phone i have ever seen.
3. Operates on Android which is one of the coolest OS ever. Too bad its not Android 2.0

All in all, i would not suggest buying this phone. There are much better phones for the same price as this one. Consider MyTouch or Cliq (which has problems too, but not as bad as this) as an alternative. The demo phones in the stores run great...because they are demo phones. Dont be fooled.

Behold 2

Apr 6, 2010 by Desiree08

I had to share my experience with this phone, i am currently waiting on my third handset to arrive today. yes, my third. My first handset would over heat like crazy. i could not do anything for to long without that phone getting really hot. The battery would die before the day was over and the phone would constantly freeze on me. I always had the issue of the phone unable to lock the screen. i had it replaced and my second one was working much better, Until about a month of having it the screen would static into the the next screen, like a TV loosing signal. That was the begging of the issues. The screen wouldn't lock on me AGAIN, then when i tried power cycling the phone to resolve the issue, the phone freezes on the loading page and would not turn on....

When speaking to the insurance company, the rep who helped me informed me that this was a common issue with this phone and i was not the first to have this problem.

I'm still waiting for the new one to come in, but I'm almost sure within the next few months i will be purchasing a new phone.

Nice but needs work

Mar 11, 2010 by thebigsaxon

I'm going to keep this short because others have hit upon this. I just wanted to share my experience.

This is a nice phone. The screen is really nice, the touch is very responsive and the camera is very nice. Response speed is very good too.

But I didn't keep it for one simple reason:

Horrible battery life. Android 1.5 is garbage and ruins batteries. My battery life on my B2 was less than 24 hours with nothing turned on, including 3g. This is not unique to my phone. Google Behold 2 battery life and there are pages of reported problems.

Android is nice, but it is definately not perfect yet.
