Great Phone With Great Service

May 23, 2003 by crazymicd

I have had this phone for about 3 months now and i would have to say LG makes the best phones on the Planet. Prior to this phone i had a T720 and it was a complete piece of junk. After have the phone exchanged for the 5th time Verizon gave me this phone. And with the exception of the the key pad being adjusted(phone shot of if it was closed to hard) it has worked perfect.
As for Pros
Great color Screen, much better than the 720
Ability to down load pictures for screen backgrounds.
Sturdy design
Great Battery life and sound quality during a call.

Cons
No Camera option

LG VX4400

I have had the vx4400 for about 4 years now (i haven't used it in a while) but i liked it when i had it. It has all the basic features i needed but i wanted an upgrade to something with bluetooth and a camera (got the vx8300, DO NOT GET IT YOU USE A BLUETOOTH HEADSET A LOT!!! IT SUCKS). i enjoyed this phone while it worked 2 months before i got my new phone, my inside screen went blank, just all white. Then, the phone wouldn't turn on. I switched back over to my vx6000 and used that until my vx8300 came in. it was a good phone when it worked.

Best Phone!

The Lg VX4400 is by far the best phone I ever had. It has a large outer LCD. And the inner LCD is very very sharp. Not like the 720 with the LCD that lookes very dim. At verizon I had the choice between the Samsung A530, Motorola T720 and the Lg 4400. the Vx4400 was by far the best choice for me! The oly thing you have to get used to is the desktop charger!

Pros: Large Sharp inner LCD
Large outer LCD
Just a nice phone over all!

Cons: Poor ringer choice

Of a High mark of 10, I'll rate it 9.4

All in all and overall, this is the phone. Color, Plenty of options, proper functions, good and loud, light weight, easy to program, and easy to recall. The only reason it received less than my max rate, the batter that comes with it is simply too basic, limited talk time, when running color, and other options. I recommend the 1600mHA battery right up front, but buy from Internet, they are 26 dollars vs 76 dollars. Put the newer battery on and sell the phone for 10 dollars more LG Company and this is a winner for sure.

LG VX4400

I have owned several cell phones (Nokia 5160, 6160, 5130; a Sanyo speakerphone; Qualcomm) from different carriers (AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon) and this phone blows them away. I just got this phone a couple of weeks ago and I am very happy with it. It is much better than the 2 Motorolas that I had from Verizon (the Timeport and V60i).

PROS:
* Excellent Reception (Better than my v60i)
* Great color screen
* User-friendly
* Downloadable ringers (The ones from Get It Now aren't that bad. I just downloaded 7.)
* Games
* Very durable (I dropped it a couple of times and it still works.)

CONS:
* Low battery life (It's better with the extended battery which I got)
* Screen savers (Even the ones from Get It Now aren't good)
* The screen froze once (It hasn't frozen since)

At first I underestimated LG because of its battery life, but I was proven wrong. I would highly recommend this phone, despite its flaws. You've come a long way LG.

Love it

I bought this phone less than two weeks ago, and I love it. It could be just because I'm upgrading from a year and a half old Kyocera 2135, but I love it nevertheless. The only thing I could make better would be to add a camera attachment, but people who want that should just get the vx6000 anyway. The color display is vibrant, and much brighter than other phones I've seen. The softkeys are so useful, the voice dialing works pretty good even with my radio blasting in the background. The phone's sub-LCD could stand to be a little brighter, but I like the options of colors on it. The dark grey shell makes the phone look more professional, yet there is no speaker phone which is fairly standard these days. The design fits in my hand a little awkward, and it would be nice if there were a little lip on it so I could flip it open better. Downloading ring tones couldn't be easier, and games on the phone are so much fun. In general I think LG has come out with an amazing phone. But despite this, I'm only giving it a 4.5 because I am returning it and getting the VX6000 for $30 more because I hear they vx6000 has the same features, but also has a camera.

AWESOME PHONE

This phone is just awesome. I have had the opportunity to utilize the entire CDMA LG series and by far give kudos to LG for the 4400. This phone is compact yet functional. I would say the biggest PRO of this phone is the voice quality. The sound on the earpiece and microphone is exceptional. When I call people they are not able to even tell I am on a wireless phone due to the great voice quality. I have had this model for 3 weeks and have dropped 3 calls in that period which is amazing! Of course that minimal number has a lot to do with my carrier, Verizon Wireless.

If I had to pick a CON regarding this phone I would say the ringer selection could be a little larger. Yes this phone is GET IT NOW capable which broadens the ringer options however some more standard business environment friendly ringers would be nice. All in all this phone is an excellent choice!

I Love It

I purchased the phone and headed East. It works great all across the US (America's Choice - Verizon). I've had Verizon for several years so am knowledgeable about where the phone may not work, not so with the LG 4400. As soon as the Snap Sync software is available I will be switching all numbers to this little phone (Dual Nam, 2 numbers). I even like the unique ringers. I don't find myself answering when everyone else's phone rings. The color is superb and the size is just right. I ordered the larger capacity battery as with normal use I must recharge daily.
I recommend this phone to everyone.

Arguably the best color phone available

This is my 3rd color phone. I just unloaded the Motorola T720, since I went through 2 of them in 6 weeks. The shortcomongs of the T720 are well documented, so I won't rehash that issue. I also have a T68i I am using on AT&T.

The VX 4400 is dramatically better than the T720 in every category. It is also better than the T68i in every category other than battery life.

I have had the VX 4400 for almost 4 days and am still on my 1st charge, with average usage. Reception is stellar compared to either of the other phones. Even though the T68i is on another network, I know it lacks because I have the Nokia 6310i on AT&T and it has far superior range and quality, so I know it is the phone and not the network.

I don't think you can go wrong with the VX 4400. For the money, features, reception and battery life, it is the best phone Verizon offers, color or not.

LG4400 - A truly impressive phone

Pros - Very clear/sharp display, loud ear volume, loudest ringer of current polyphonic phone lineup, logical menu layout, small size, largest external LCD of current color VZW phones. Notes can be entered for each individual contact. The 4400 sports a dedicated external voice dial button which when held activates it's built in 4 minute digital memo recorder; unlike the LGVX1/10/LG510... External LCD allows you to setup various colors when you have a missed call, voice mail, sms message, etc.

Cons - Battery life is comparable to the other VZW color phones. Purchase a spare battery and or be sure to charge this phone every night.

The sound quality is nothing short of excellent. Even while the ear volume is turned to its maximum setting there was no distortion present which is apparent on the StarTac line at maximum volume. The reception so far has been very good while used in South Florida. I have a 50 mile commute and have talked the entire length of my drive. I would highly recommend this phone.
