QA30 PROBLEMS

Sep 19, 2009 by woahwoah

This phone does not allow you to use the symbols button or any other symbols that are not on the key pad, on the web browser.

Also, on the web browser, the "ABC" thing does not change when you change to upper case, to FN or to lower case.

Motorola Hint QA30

I have had this phone about 2 months and have experienced man problems.
Pros: Nice size to wear on belt.
Decent email.
Cons: 1. Poor reception on Altell
2. Icons designed for sales. Most phone uses require 3 to 5 menu selections.
3. Icons and menus not configurable.
4. Not compatible with Motorola Phone Tools (admitted by tech service) but it was advertised as compatible. Therefore can not be used with a computer sync.
5. Installed and formatted 8 GB micro SD as per manual. Computer (XP) will write to it as a storage device, but phone doesn't know it is there even though it formatted it.
6. Tech service slow and not very knowledgeable
7. In pocket with keypad locked, it will make calls or go on-line when pressed against if the slide is just slightly ajar. A common thing in a pocket.

Bottom Line: Stay away from this phone until they fix the problems unless you enjoy huge frustration and callers annoyed by phantom calls that run up your air time.

I work for US Cellular and I'm with Cricket because US cellular doesn't have service in my area. I had major issues setting up the email application that it frustrated me so much. The phone has so much on it that I did get frustrated with it quickly and how to use it, but after having it a little over a week i have to admit that it keeps me busy I'm seldomly bored. I know how use the phone just fine now...if your looking for a challenge and something that wont keep you bored, this phone definitely is it.

Pros:
compact, nice back round and love the red rim color of the phone.
lasting battery-i played with the phone for 8 hrs in a row and I still had a full size battery.
GPS
The internet is the fastest that Ive ever had!
Nice Music player, Music sounds crisp clear, the best Ive ever had.
Ring-tones are loud.
Text, picture and video messaging are fast.
The video is long- it records up to 5 min, long enough to get something interesting.

Cons:
The phone sticks out of my pocket, and I'm a girl so that doesn't go well with tight jeans.
The keys are too small for me...and I'm a girl!
I can hardly feel when it vibrates
The picture ID when someone calls is so small, I hardly see it.
Theres only one background.
The camera and video screen is terrible...unless its downloaded from SD card.
The speaker phone isn't that loud, theres no sound difference when its normal or on speaker phone.

Overall this is a great phone, no calls dropped, great service, nice music player, and will keep you occupied when your bored.

Bad Suprise

Biggest waste of $250 bucks I ever spent at Metro Pcs EVER. The phone does not have a quarter of the options one would expect and if one more person tells me to quit eating the phone I am gonna scream! This does not include the fact that it slows tremendously when multiple text messages come through and what not, It's not made for busy fingers like mine.

I like it

I like the Hint. I have had it for about 6 months and have had no issues at all. I have had to power cycle occasionally, but that is really a best practice with any phone, and if you do that regularly you shouldn't have any problems.

i have been using it for almost a month now. it's a nice phone. internet is much faster than my previous phone (rokr). the phone does restart itself once in a while and that doesn't really bother me. wish the keys could be a little bigger. battery life is not so great unless u don't use the internet at all. no major complains so far.

Good Phone

I chose this as a replacement for my old RAZR which preformed ok. This phone is compact and really easy to use. In a matter of minutes I mastered the basics and in about a Day I knew the phone like the back of my hand.

Pros:
-Great Battery Life (up to 15 days in standby mode)
-Instant Messaging and many other accesories
-Great Default Ringtones and Loud
-Decent Internet
-Good Button Response
-Decent charge time (2 Hours)
-Extremely small, good and not so noticeable in pocket
- Great QWERTY keyboard
-Killer Quality for screen and Camera
- Settings allow you to minimize cons to your preference
- Voice Command

Cons:
-The bad side of being Compact is that it makes it awkward to talk with the keyboard slided in.
-No games!!!!!!
-The keyboard might be hard to text message on
-No timer

Overall a great phone... no stupid and unecsary accesories that don't even work and a great camera. Great if you want to look up news or an address, or if you want to take a picture of something funny you so on the go, or if you just want to make a plain call. Despite it being mostly unnecessary the Voice Command works great if you don't remember a Contact's phone number... just say Call and then their name. However I would not recommend it to dial a full number as it can give you bad suggestions.

Great phone

Great improvement on all aspects for any moto phones released with Metropcs. It text faster, send faster, mms is really improved. Picture and videos are longer nicer to record quickly, the reception is fantastic and the slider factor is very cool. Haven't had any drop call since getting it. The browser is the fastest of any metro phone right now as far as heard. Get a leather case to keep and you are all set.
love it.

What was Motorola thinking?

Apr 22, 2009 by andyhasadd

I've had this phone less than two months. Actually i've had three of these phones, this is the worst phone by far that i've ever owned. The phone keeps turning itself off and not powering back on. The battery gets extremely hot, when i try to take pics, it says unable to capture image. The slide technique sucks, the phone isnt very stable when opened. The keys are akward. I would not recommend buying this phone, or any other Motorola phone at that.
