Not Worth it

Jul 17, 2010 by excellphoneworker

The phone is nice looking at this is about it, the speaker phone is absolutely terrible it is too loud even on the lowest master volume setting, and its a oil magnet, if you are outside on a nice hot day, the phone will stick to your face, because of the plastic screen. The front display has a tendency to go out, i have kept my phone in a case with the screen facing me away from any blunt force or hitting, and the LCD still goes out, Verizon has replaced it twice. Battery life is very poor as well, it gets really warm when charging. Not much too choose from when it comes to wallpaper or ring tones, Reception is good though with an occasional dropped call. So all in all if you want to have the headache of replacing the phone b/c the LCD goes out, and you don't care for a speaker phone, your all set

Intrigued by Frustration

I am on my third phone now. The phone is sexy and cute, but it simply does NOT work. It freezes often, especially when making more than one call in a row using a headset. Since I only use headsets with my cell phones, this is indeed a problem.

Verizon is not much help. Except for replacing the phones they have yet to FIX it. Even with hours on the land line phone with tech support, it still doesn't work.

Nokia was even worse. Their technician didn't know how to reset the original software on the phone. Also didn't know what the menus said.

Today, I thought I'd finally found the answer. I paid $100 for a new headset from Nokia. Guess what? It does the same thing. So the problem is the phone, not the headset.

Then I finally got someone at Verizon who seemed to know the situation and he told me to go to the store and get a software flash update. He even gave me the number of the update.

So I did that. 30 minutes later, I was told, "all set!" I was elated, except right away, the phone still didn't work. They ordered the THIRD phone to arrive in THREE days.

Upon further inspection, the software on the phone had NOT been updated!

The only other option is Verizon will offer me A LOVELY USED PHONE! Of course they call it "refurished" but essentially that is PUBLIC RELATIONS SPEAK for USED!

Awful. I am not happy.

Horrible

I agree that the phone is pretty. Even the inside is pretty cute, but the quality...i didn't expect this from Nokia. I've had this phone for 3.5 months and it broke already twice. The first time the screen started gong blank and now it broke from the charging point and its unfixable. If u want a quality phone don't get this. Even the battery life sucks. Stay away from this phone. Nokia doesn't even produce this phone anymore

cute but frustrating

iam now currently on my 5th intrigue since march. the phone is cute however it shuts off all the time, freezes, vibrate does not always work and battery does not stay charged. if you do not use phone as main phone line and dont mind all the delays then you will enjoy this phone.

Emasculated by Verizon

Something that has come to be expected like transferring pictures from the phone to a computer can't be accomplished unless Verizon is paid additionally. The phone software has been designed to make the Intrigue essentially a Verizon vending machine.

The phone is produced exclusively for the US and exclusively for Verizon, and therefore is not on the list of supported phones by Nokia's PC Suite - a huge disadvantage.

Verizon has emasculated most connectivity features to encourage you to do everything with their add-on services, and none of the Nokia or other third-party software applications will work.

Pros: Great design/size/weight/performance

Cons: Verizon degraded it.
