Love this phone!

May 22, 2009 by MrTommy

Before I bought this phone I did NO texting, NO videos, and NO pictures. Now I do all this - and more. I wish I'd bought it long ago, and I was hauled to it kicking and screaming. I should have listened to my friends and my wife earlier.

I'm a truck driver and I'm on the road A LOT. It's a great phone all across Northern Nevada where I drive all week long. I use a wired headset for easy (and lengthy) talking.

My only real complaint is trying to see the inside screen in bright sunlight. But I wouldn't call that a deal-breaker.

I'd buy this phone again in a heartbeat, and recommend it to my friends constantly.

Considering I came from an LG 510, this was a HUGE step up in technology. I was initially afraid of going to a digital-only phone but the enV2 has made a believer out of me. Buy it now!

Nice Phone...

this is a nice little phone. i was having a hard time deciding between this and some of the other touch screen phones and to be honest i think i'm much better off with the env2.

i think it looks cool and it feels fairly durable, which is one of the main reasons i chose this over the other lg touches. if you're into mobile web a touch screen phone might be more for you but for talking and texting this works great.

much better than the alias (which is what i previously had)...

Great phone!

Pros:
You can get a micro SD card for it for more storage and use it as your mp3 player

It has a great texting keyboard

Pretty good camera

Cons:
Not the coolest looking phone on the outside

The maroon color is pretty ugly but the black one is cool

It's a little big but not a problem

Not too shabby

I have had this phone since the day it came out about a year ago. It works and sounds great but looks horrible.

PROS: Great for texting. Pretty easy to use. Battery holds up well. Plays music pretty loud

CONS: The "chrome" around the edges and the clear coat on the keypad comes off easily.
The keypad locks up too soon, so you are contantly having to hit OK to unlock the keypad.

Best battery life ever

I gotta say, when i was first given this phone as a replacement for my original orange enV i was not too please but it has slowly grown on me. It is now Tuesday and i have not charged my phone since Saturday morning and i have only lost one battery bar and i send upwards of a hundred texts a day and have a few short phone calls here and there so its not like im not using it.

Really my only complaint is that LG was dumb enough to leave off left and right arrows on the front. On my original enV i rarely used the keyboard, i just used word on the front but i find myself opening the phone up more because you cannot backspace since there are only up and down arrows. I cant really see why there are no right and left arrows but all phone manufacturers make blunders like this from time to time.

alright

i have the env2 since this past christmas and its pretty good but i have a few things to say about it.

CONS:
-front screens a little small
-its hard to text on the front because there are no side arrow keys
-so one day my ok button will be working and the next minute it wont be and same with my send, end, 7, 8, & 9 buttons
-calls random numbers and people while in my pocket sometimes

PROS:
-great for texting(on the inside keyboard)
-the outside buttons are big
-battery lasts long

overall this phone is pretty good and it hasnt freezed on me at all

U Should ENV Too, HAHA!!!

This phone is ecellent all around. The camera is very clear with a good quick auto focus. Video is also pretty nice. Buttons work very well and quick texting etc. not much delay at all if ever. The outside screen could be better, but realistically doesnt need to be, anything you are going to do that requires a larger screen you are going to want to be using the full keypad anyway so youll open it and the inside screen is very large, clear and vivid! To the people that beat on their phones and destroy them one after another DO NOT buy a regular phone. They make waterproof shock proof phones like the boulder for you. Dont cry because your phone quit working aftrer 6 months of abuse. I know several people who have this phone and got it right when it came out and they treat it like any other phone they have had and have 0 problems. Bottom Line - GREAT PHONE FOR TEXT MEDIA ETC>

Great texting phone... but one HUGE con!!

Apr 3, 2009 by phonebrah233

I was absolutely in love with this phone. You can text fast as anything from the front and the QWERTY. However- be VERY careful, if you have anything of an active lifestyle it WILL call people from your pocket! I kid you not.

PROS:
-VERY easy to text from the front. Huge buttons, very very quick texting.
-Also very easy to text from the QWERTY keyboard. Big buttons, easy to type numbers and punctuation.
-Great call quality, everything about this phone is perfect.... except...

CONS:
-Calls people from your pocket. I averaged out at least one call per day to somebody I didn't mean to call. I run around a lot and it was an absolute nightmare. I had this phone for about a month and had to get rid of it just for this sole reason. I miss it like crazy but it had to go. Be very, very careful as this has screwed me over big time when people overheard conversations that they weren't supposed to hear!!! Be very careful of who is in your phone book! It will leave voicemails.

Overall, excellent excellent phone except it is too easy for the "OK" button to be hit which unlocks the phone and it has free reign to call whoever it wants!

Decent

I don't think the env2 is a bad phone at all. If you read through the features, you'll know what you're getting into.

Cons:
- (The reason I traded my phone out) Terrible echo even with volume lowered.
- Calls people in your pocket even when phone is locked (every now and then).

Neutral:

- No flash or auto focus, but then again I knew this when purchasing so it isn't fair really to complain. I can always buy a Cannon for that!

Pros:

-GREAT text messaging phone.
-Awesome battery life. One of the best, actually.
- Slim design & not too bulky.
- Comes in black & maroon.
- Great text layout for small hands but still larger than other models.
- Loud volume/ringer & decent ringtones
- Durable

It also doesn't have an extremely strong vibration but that never bothered me.

It's not a touch screen phone & it isn't html capable but I mean, isn't that what other phones are for? I see a lot of reviews on here complaining about what the Env2 doesn't have. LG nor Verizon Wireless claimed the phone had these features the tech dorks are freaking out about.

Worth the initial price

Sticker shock, don't let it get you down. I've had this phone since October 2008 and I absolutely love it.

+:
Sturdy. I have dropped it a few times and it's not even scratched.
Great texting, both on the faceplate and on the keyboard
Interesting default ringtones
Battery life ++, I only have to charge every 4 or 5 days.
Camera isn't bad. 2.0 mega pixels is more than you need on a phone.

-:
Having to open the phone to do most things (review pics you've taken, for example.)
Cost

It's silly, but one of the things I find amazing about the enV-2 is the three alarms you can set. I know, that's corny but it beats my clock radio. I also like how games look on it, Peggle is pretty fantastic for those nasty commute days.

I'd suggest it to anyone who doesn't mind spending a little more to get much higher quality.
