Pretty sweet phone to say the least.

Pros:
Mostly obvious
-The Look
-QWERTY board
-2MP Cam (but no flash)
-Wallpapers
-Fonts
-Stereo Speakers
-Screen Resolution
-Touch screen
-Pretty good web browser

Cons:
-Kinda bulky
-Buttons are kinda loud when texting
-2.5mm instead of the standard 3.5mm and no cover for it.
-Camera has no flash which really sucks
-Texting with touch screen can be difficult
-No multi tasking while listening to music with vcast
-Picture ID could be bigger!

Definitely an Improvement but Not For Everyone

I got this phone because, like others, I'm a sucker for the latest and greatest. I opted for this one over the LG Dare because having a completely touch screen phone makes me nervous. My previous phone was the LG VX8600 and I absolutely loved it.

I liked the idea of having a touch screen on the outside and an QWERTY on the inside. So, some of the pros and cons:

PROS:
* Touch screen is pretty responsive
* Colors are rich and the screen quality is excellent
* Camera is one of the nicest I've had on a phone and the set up is intuitive (operates like a real camera)
* Speakerphone is loud
* Internet browsing isn't bad for a phone and works well with the screen size

CONS:
* Within the first two days I had this phone it just shut off while I was in the middle of something (like the internet browser). Needless to say, a day old phone should do this
* It has locked up on me a couple of times which is really aggravating
* Texting is really hard to get used to with the touch screen and/or the QWERTY board. This could just be my resistance to change but I have to relearn and it's a pain
* There is no healthy compromise to the screen lock. If you have it on Auto Lock, it's locked even when you get a call and you have to unlock it before answering. When this is going on the screen doesn't seem very responsive
* Going through the contacts is a pain- you have to push more buttons to get where you want unless their on speed dial (in which case you still have to push more buttons than past phones)
* No Get It Now- I have to go through the browser for stuff

All in all, I think I will be returning it for something more similar to my 8600- the NV2.

Good - Almost Great

Sep 4, 2008 by calebt0340

I just upgraded my wife to this phone and so far she loves it. She likes it mostly because it's not at all like her now-defunkt RAZR V3c. I tend to take a more critical view of things, so here's my list of pros and cons:

Pros:
-Crisp, clear, big screens
-The touch function works marvelously well
-The volume from the handset itself is fantastic!
-Easy-to-use QWERTY keyboard
-Surprisingly easy to type on the touchscreen
-"In Case of Emergency" contacts and info. first thing in contacts list
-Microphone erases all but the loudest sounds for the other caller
-Music automatically restarts after a phone call or text! LOVE that!!
-Very sexy look and feel
-Web browser looks great (full HTML) and is pretty easy to read

Cons:
-The speakers are simply awful-crackly and too muffled when top is closed
-Can't ever hear it ringing (see above)
-2.5mm???!!! Really??!!??!
-The auto-lock function gets annoying when you want/need to switch back and forth betwn open and closed
-Operations take forever. Opening music takes almost twice as long as even her old RAZR- impossibly slow
-And that goes for the camera too! The shot has long since passed and the people have grown old and died by the time this thing takes a picture. And then there's not even a flash!
-No sideways functions where useful (i.e. iphone-esque QWERTY touch keyboard)
-Only sideways functions where you don't want them (i.e. taking pictures/video, playing music, etc. although web browser is good)
-I mentioned the speakers right?

All in all I really like this phone. Mostly because my wife really likes it and she won't bother me for a new one for quite some time (hopefully...). If you don't really care about the little niggles her and there and just want a "cute" or "sexy" phone that's different from all the microscopic clamshells out there then this is it. With A2DP and a TON of memory capacity you can at least rock out quite well with it. Good Luck!!

What are people thinking

Sep 4, 2008 by dsrtshrk

I am not sure what some people's negativity is about with this phone. I have been waiting for this phone for almost a year and now that I've had it for exactly a week, I must say that it is the best phone I've ever had. The learning curve was less than a week for me including the scrolling on the touch screen. I think that the people that have had their issues with this phone are the one's that bought it looking for something else, impatient or have way to much time on there hands and were looking for issues. Yes, there are little tweaks with this phone as there are with almost every phone, but things that are very easily forgotten. There is nothing else that I can put on this phone as I've got Vcast TV, VVM, Navigator etc. I think my biggest concern that has anything to do with this product (and it doesn't even have to do with the phone itself) is that there are not enough TV channels and to many of the same. I would love to see Discovery, The Weather Channel and/or an actual news network like CNN, but again, that has nothing to do with the phone itself. I had the VX8300 for almost three years and I loved the phone. LG makes great products and the VX10K has come through again. I can't say how much I absolutely love this phone.

Pro's
Touch Screen
QWERTY board
TV
WEB
Sound Quality
Expandable memory (I've got over 2G of music and can have over 2G more)

Weight and balance

Virtually everything about this phone

Con's
TV (not enough channels, not phone's fault)

VVM (still not sure if I like it, but will continue using until I have made up my mind, but again, not phone's fault.

Sound quality when phone is closed (not a big deal to me)

Sometimes touch screen doesn't do exactly what I want, but most likely user error

My 8300 had ring tones for restricted numbers, unknown numbers and individual's text msgs, I would have liked to see that with the 10K also.

Ringer vibration could be stronger

I am pulling for things that could be CONs

LG Voyager Believer

I really was surprised by the phone. I too was an enV user before the Voyager. This phone has been fun to use. The external screen is really huge and clear. The vibrations you get when you touch an icon are great. You can even adjust the intensity of the little vibrations. Texting is what this phone is all about. Once you have sent out a few text messages, you find yourself an old pro at it. The camera is your basic cell phone camera. It works well enough to get a decent picture printed out after you've e-mailed it to an e-mail address.

Pro's:
nice and loud speakers
keys spaced out nicely for texting
nice size. not too heavy or bulky
reception is great. (verizon)

Cons:
at this time, I am vey happy with this phone. no complaints at all for me.

This phone is great for teens alike. Just make sure the kid takes his cell phone out of his swim trunk pocket before he jumps in the pool. CPR was unsuccessful in bringing back my enV. Thats why I now use the Voyager. So in a way, I must thank my child for taking my enV for a swim.

Almost Perfect! Just Wish It Could Stream Live MP3 Radio!

1. ((PRO)) HTML Browser. ((CON)) Works pretty well, but it's still slower then Opera Mini.
2. Perfect Design! It's like a mini Laptop computer.
3. 2-18 bit screens. Most vendors are offering phones with low res screens, LG decided to not only offer high-res, but to offer 18 bit color to boot! Movies that I have converted and transfered to my phone play wide screen and look great!
4. ((PRO)) Stereo Speakers! The Voyager has 2 speakers that make watching TV, Movies, and Video Clips very sound clear. (CON) When the phone is closed, the speakers don't sound very loud at all.
5 ((PRO)) Lots of VCast Clips from TV, Music, to Internet Clips! ((CON)) They look pixelated and deluded. Not as clear as Sprint or AT&T's video clips. You are also charged for movies, but you have to buy clips instead of the whole movie. So buying an entire movie would cost you into the $100 range. So I never bother.
6. ((PRO)) Powerful Media Player. Movies and Clips play cleanly and the phone don't just reset for no reason like other phones tend to do when your watching long videos. You can even alter pictures on your phone. ((CON)) NO MP3 STREAMING! Unlike Sprint phones, you can't stream live radio with the Voyager. Verizon wants you to buy a PDA and PDA data plan. So if you want to stream live radio, then you will have to use ORB and leave your computer on. This is a big problem for me because I love listening to Howard Stern, but don't see a point anymore in paying for Sirius radio; seeing as they run commercials all of the time. You also CAN NOT just put videos on your phone. You have to use Bitpim and transfer them that way.
7. ((PRO)) VCast TV Looks Better Then Normal Data TV Offerings Like MobiTV.((CON)) It is NOT as clear as broadcast TV, that is a lie. The image is hazy and dull looking. You also get stupid channels like 3 news networks,3 broadcast channels a few Cable channels and 2 ESPN's. 1 of the ESPN's shows nothing but Skate boarding & other useless junk. So it's not worth it yet.

Voyager hits the nark!

I am a phone junkie.. I have had so many phones but in the past 6 months I have had the RUMOR LG BY SPRINT, AND THE ENVY and now the VOYAGER. I love the touch screen on it and the Mobile TV. Texting is a breeze either on the touchscreen itself or the keyboard. Its not too bulky and takes pretty decent pics. My only concern so far is that the battery life tends to be short. I find myself charging at least 2 times a day. I get killer clarity anywhere I go. I am very satisfied with this phone. I compared it to the LG DARE and to me there wasnt any comparison. If you are a gadget junkie then this one is for you...

Really nice phone

Jul 13, 2008 by ariesdiamond

I had problems with this phone when I first received it. I couldn't program it and the tv wouldn't work. But once I took it into the verizon store and a tech got on the case it worked beautifully. they did have to switch the phone though but that's okay, as long as it worked! I find that the battery lasts a good while and I'm ALWAYS on the web or email or tv. I hardly use the phone for actually making phone calls! The one draw back is if you're calling an automatic service, and you have to push a bunch of buttons, you have to unlock your screen then push the buttons and then your face may touch the screen and another button is pushed but it's not a serious draw back. I can deal with that. The mobile TV has really good quality and it as an antennae. How many phones with tv has that!!!! I LOVE the qwerty keyboard, it makes texting so much faster and more acurate. The touch screen is awesome and if you set up the shortcut buttons, it makes it even better. I recommend this phone.

VOYAGER !!!!!

Jul 8, 2008 by czanda

I work in the wireless industry and know about the cell phones that are out there. The Voyager is a good one to discuss. The PROS are #1 the clarity of the screen is beautiful very clear, the phone is quick in response, the keyboard is s tremedous advantage, looks like a complicated phone but it really is not. And unlike the i phone it has a removable battery, you are allowed to insure the phone, and you have the ability to send and recieve pix/and video texts. The Cons is that the speaker is horrible the phoes ringer is on high yet it doesn't ring like ts at a high volume, you'd think it was on low.

2nd best

Jul 7, 2008 by Akashrahi

Okay before I make this review I want to say that the voyager is nothing compared to the iPhone and well, we all know that.

I've recently had a voyager and I love many things about

Pros:
* the keyboard is spacious and the touch screen is responsive
* the full HTML web browser is very neat but it could have been a bit better.
* the music on the voyager was very loud I could here it in my living room when I was up stairs 2-story house
*it reads out text messages
* its over all pretty sexy

Cons:
* it's a little bit over size but i think its not that bad
* the phone can lag at times so you have I resrart it.
* the space and backspa on the keyboard are placed wrong I'm more used to my sidekick lx keybo

Over all $199.99 for a 2-year contract is
not bad at all for a great phone like this.
