KYOCERA E2000

Jan 21, 2008 by JJACKS76

So far i have had the phone for 2 days...as far as quality it is the best phone that i have had to date, I've Just traded in my kyocera strobe.....I usally trade my phones in with metro every year..just to get the most up to date phone...
PROS :
This phone takes great pics..
has mp3 and you can use your recorded voice memos as ringtones !! in which i think thats great *could not do this with the strobe*

CONS:
Themes....could have had more colors to choose from

Wallpapers and screensavers are not that great

The brick attack game it comes with could have been an more updated version with a phone that already includes so much extra's

The video record mode i think should give you more recording time....i beleive so far it only allows up to 15 seconds of record time....

Color....the color of the phone im not sure what they was thinkin...but its a chocolate color...in which im use to grey/and or black phones i almost purchase the new ultra star...but it was a little to slim and seemed fragile to me....

till then i'll update if i have any more info about the phone...i was debating on taking it back to the store....but i really did'nt care for the new moto slider phone...me personally im not a motorolla fan...but to each is own.

Peice of junk

This is by far the worst phone I have ever owned. Voice dialing is the default and there is no easy way around it. The mp3 player locks you in to the application. You can do nothing else until you close the player application. If you are listening to music and take a call the player will pause and you have to manually restart it after the call. The bluetooth is very weak and does not play music through a standard bluetooth headset. The loudspeaker is very weak.
Don't expect to hear this phone ring if you are in the other room. The ring features are very quirky, sometimes will ring through headset, some times from phone, sometimes from both and sometimes not at all. One other major downfall is this phones sensitivity to any magnets that you might have in your cell phone case. These magnets are used as a latch in a lot of cell phone cases. This phone has a reaction to these magnets as if you had opened and closed the phone. The result: upon removing the phone from the case you effectively hang up on the caller. The final layer of fudge Kyocera put on this phone is its battery life/standby time. The most standby time I have gotten from this phone in any situation is 24 hours. Talk time is about 2 hours if your using bluetooth. The earphones it came with sound like tin.
On the plus side is its camera. It also comes with ONE game: Brick Attack. I trust this was a joke from the manufacturer as my 7 year old Kyocera 2035 had this game as well.

WORST EVER CELL

AFTER OWNING THE CHEAPEAST MODEL METRO PCS OFFERS AND,A SAMSUNG MIDDLE OF THE LINE PHONE VIA PCS,I "UPGRADED \"(LOL) TO THIS KYOCERA E2000 TEMPO CAUSE,I WAS ASSURED IT HAD A SUPERIOR CAMERA AND FEATURES....(BUYER BEWARE!)
PRO'S- IT POWERS UP MOST OF THE TIME
CON'S-WHEN IT DOES POWER UP,THESE ARE SOME OF THE PROBLEMS I HAVE EXPERIENCED:
-POOR BATTERY
-CAN'T SEND TEXT
-PHONE DOESN'T ALWAYS RING
-CPU SLOWS DOWN AND KEYSTROKES ARE DELAYED TO THE POINT WHETHER DIALLING OR TEXTING,I DON'T KNOW IF IT PROCESSED MY KEY UNTIL A SECOND OR TWO LATER
-TEXT MESSAGE INBOX SCREEN SOMETIMES CHANGES COLOR SHOWING TEXT MESSAGE LIST IN FUNKY COLORED HAZE
-SIGNAL LOSS(OF COURSE)
-CAN'T HANG UP CALL-PRESSING END BUTTON REPEATEDLY LAST DIGITS DIALLED ARE DISPLAYED(EVEN THOUGH CALL IS LOST,SCREEN WON'T GO BACK TO MAIN WALLPAPER DISPKLAY AND PHONE IS LOCKED UP)
-CAN'T SWITCH BETWEEN CALLS;WHEN PUSHING "SWITCH"OPTION,PHONE LOCKS UP AND BOTH CALLS ARE HUNG IN SPACE

WHILE SOME PROBLEMS MAY BE DUE TO CARRIER ITSELF,I FEEL THIS PHONE IS WORTHLESS AND,AT NEARLY $220.00 FOR THIS ONE AS OPPOSED TO A $150.00 SAMSUNG(A FAER SUPERIOR PRODUCT),I GOT BENT OVER AND IT BROKE OFF IN ME!BUY SOME K.Y.JELLY IF YOU GO TO PURCHASE KYOCERA PRODUCTS!

style and no function

3.4
out of 10
The keppad is hard to nivigate and is not backlit, so forget about using it in the dark. The back button sits just below the navigation button, so it inadvertently triggers when navigating and reverts back to the menu, or out of the menu altogether.
The Screen is cluttered and the options are barely visible, and the most used options like contacts are tucked away at the corners and I can find no options to rearrange the manu to fit my usage. Options like dialed calls or recent calls require even more work and searching.
The Battery lasts less than a day of medium level calling, and if you dont use it it willl last about a day and a half. If you use your phone all the time, you may not finish the day before you need to recharge, and the charge takes hours....
The camera is a loooow 1.3Mpix cam, so thats barely usable. It comes without all the acceessories needed to load MP3s on it, so you gotta go out and buy extra stuff to use it.
Horrible phone, I would give it a 2-3/10

average e2000

The E 2000 has great features, admitted it. But as of my short 6 hour experience with it before returning same day and got Rokr z6, I would say E2000 has the worst signal reception to date. I have had big big problem dialing out of my office at work and eventually have to go outside the door and call! With Nokia and Moto, I have never had problems. The phone itself have awkward holding position to me, I feel like the flip is bigger than the keypad and having hard time texting comfortably or may be just me? Screen is average like other cell phones 170x220. I would stick with Nokia and Moto if you need signal reception priority.
