Wow! Cool Phone!

Jul 28, 2007 by kcarter

I got this phone a bit under a month ago. Coming from the Verizon Motorola RAZR, this has been one of the best things yet! I had to replace my razr 4 times, and i finally got sick of it. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this phone, except that mobile tv isn't available in my area yet.

Pros:
-Awesome Screen! It must be HD.
-Cool Backgrounds.
-Loud Speaker (other reviews said that it was weak)
-great camera quality!(even just for 1.3 mp)
-You can change menu interfaces! (LG, VZW)
-good call quality!
-internet is fast!

Cons:
-needs more/better ringtones!

Overall, this has been one of my best phones yet. I got it around the time that the iphone was the biggest and greatest thing, but this is soo much better! Nobody seems to have it, and its a head turner! I get so many compliments on it, and ppl are asking me what carrier it is. I recommend this big time! Only thing is, is that it now costs $200.00. Bottom line, great phone!

Coolest display ever

This phone has the coolest most beautiful display you have seen in a phone. Watching TV is like having your own little HDTV ... How great is that!

great phone, i have to give it that!
PROS:
great music player
(not as bad as i would have thought) camera.. i like it! lol..
video/camera
VERY COOL! everyone looks @ you if you open it up in public! i feel like a movie star!
CONS:
annoying having to keep flipping every time you have to dial
voice commands don't work
ok camera (should have a "gr8" camera)
NOT able to text while listening to your music
no light when videoing

the little things (like all the cons) really don't matter. great phone. i would recommend it.

Nice and solid

This phone is one of the best phones out there. It has a great feel to it. Originally I was going to get the Samsung SCH-U620 but i felt to flimsy. As soon as I knew that this phone was being released I had to jump on it. The day that it was released, was my last day of the 15 return/exchange policy. It was a no brainier.

Pros:
Great built
Nice bright display
Landscape view for TV viewing
Vcast Tv

Cons:
No Vcast TV yet available in Los Angeles area

Great phone.....with exceptions......

Great Build quality....Very Solid! The VX9400 as a telephone is pretty darn good. The call sound is clean, the signal has been excellent even in areas where my last LG was weak. The speaker phone sounds GREAT, unfortunately, every time I use the speaker phone everyone complains that I sound like I'm in a distant tunnel, so I finally get a phone with a loud clear speaker phone...then the speaker phone mic sounds like crap....sigh.....

The screen is GREAT, very high quality. The swivel is fine, it can be opened or closed while talking, but won't hang up the call, unless you change the settings so it dumps the call when rotated vertical.

Bluetooth works great, you can print to a bluetooth printer, headsets work great as well.

DUN won't work out of the box. You have to use QPST to modify the phone for dun...very easy to do, then it works fine.

So lets see...camera...very below average inside, average outside. Should of had the 2.0MP camera that the 8700 received.

MP3/WMA player is great. My 2GB San Disk MicroSD card works and sounds great.

All my old ringers worked, I just emailed em to the new phone.

The VCast TV is spotty in my area. When it is receivable, it's crisp and clear, but the sound is low and a wired headset is required. A bluetooth headset WON'T work with the TV... Don't know why.

Best Phone on the Market

LG has done it again! Call Quality is excellent, Battery life is good! I love the TV service, I was watching the Final four game on saturday and didn't miss a beat. Camera is only 1.3, but it still gives excellent shots. Speaker phone is decent. Design is amazing!

Only Cons would be that the screen does keep a lot of finger prints, always have to keep in clean.

Did have to get used to the soft keys being at the bottom of the phone.

Not all what anticipated

We were up for our new after 2 upgrade from Verizon, presently using the LG 6100. After checking out the phones for the deal and quality we chose the LG 9400. After 2 weeks both phones were replaced, one for poor recept. and one for defective battery. Poor signal and dropping calls in areas that in the past were not really difficult. Both phones seem to have poor reception in the extended area from Verizon. Battery life in these areas is poor. Nothing like the specs.
Pros,
Nice screens, easy menu. The feel and quality seems to be nice and the turn screen is easy to get used to.

Cons,
Reception is terrible in extended areas and it drops call worse than our LG6100 did in same areas. We have compared signal strength with different phones driving out to certain areas with the phones side by side and the older phones show signal and work the the newer ones don't have any signal at all. Even the 2 LG 9400s we have now show different signal strength in the same area. Techs explained that because of the radiation issue that the phomes manufactures are watching this and thats why the poor reception.
Battery life in these areas are the max of 1 1/2 to 2 dsys. and the phone goes dead without much warning. Shows a good charge but then goes dead very quickly. Also the Techs say this is normal because of the small mah battery
Not much in the way of nice ring tones and the volume doesnt get very high to be heard if you carry it in a purse or if your in a noisy area. Vibrate isn't very strong either.
The numbers on the front of the phone when a call comes in are small and not changeable. Difficult to see in the sunlight or a bright area.

I hope they do something to make this phone work better in the future with an upgrades or software. Went past 30 day return.I know for sure my next phone will be a Motorola from everyone I talked with. If anyone knows of ways how to get better recpt. I sure hope they say so. We are very disappointed

Solid Phone

Pros:
Unique design
Mobile TV
Create my own ring tones (through mms)
Screen is sharp
Good call quality
Loud earpiece (I keep my volume at 50%)
Solid feel
Good Speaker phone

Cons:
Camera is decent, expected better
Screen appeared to scratch easily (I added a screen cover, problem fixed)

I've owned an MO E815, LG ENV, Chocolate and others and IMO this is one of the better phones I've used.

Great phone

I must first say that the TV service is not available in my area. I use my phones for calls, texting, and occasional pictures--I'm not interested in bluetooth, internet, etc.

The screen is beautiful, wide, and very clear. The colors look great, and vivid. The swivel is very easy to get used to, and becomes second nature very quickly.

As an avid texter, I was worried about the number buttons being very close together. But, it is very easy to text, and I never have a problem hitting the wrong button.

The only thing that takes time to get used to is the navigation buttons. They are on the bottom, and it is easy to accidentally hit the number buttons instead out of habit. (Because they are under the screen.)

All of my calls are clear, easy to hear, and I never have any fuzziness in the background. I've never dropped a call, and I always have service.

I know that many people do not like the Verizon UI. There is any option to choose between the LG UI or Verizon UI.

Overall, I think this is a great phone, and I have little to complain about. I think that it would satisfy any customer of Verizon.
