Moto T720 For Alltel is Phat

Jun 29, 2004 by billp04

I see alot of people have the T720 for verizon, i recently switched from verizon to alltel. I had the the V60 with verizon. I hated it, i wasn't very happy with verizon's service to begin with. So tried alltel out..i love it!..the service is great, i get full bars everywhere i go. I love the color screen, ring tones and the games are awsome on it..i will admit the battery life on the phone sucks..but all an all its a great phone

Not the best phone.

Hey, I know this is the first review with a low rating, and first review going against this phone. First of all, if you are upgrading to this phone, I'd suggest you don't. The "speaker", if that's what you want to call it doesn't work that well at all. The ringtones are hardly hearable if the phone is in your pocket. If you are the kind of person that likes to go the lake or out of town, and still be able to use your phone, this one's not for you. Most people like a lot of colors on your phone, but this phone only has 4,096 compared to most of the other phones with 65,000 colors.
If you're one of those people that want a simple phone, this phone just doesn't cut it. I'm very good with electronics, and I have figured all my previous phones out, without handbooks, mainly in about 20 minutes or so. But this phone took me about 3 days, and I still don't even know what half of it is. I was so dissapointed with this phone, that I actually traded it in for the LG VX4500 5 days after having troubles with it.

Decent...I guess.

I got the Motorola T720 in December 2002 and was thrilled when it was sold to me. "It's a very nice phone, you'll love it. It has great features." Excited as one could imagine, I was happy with my purchase.

Time went bye...days, weeks, months, now a year. Guess what? This phone is so sad, it's funny. There is a delay when you hit a button. I can press Phonebook and begin scrolling and nothing happens until seconds later. Very Frustrating.

Now, after being dropped about 4 times on concrete, my Motorola has been pronounced dead. Verizon was so nice to help me with my insurance info. They are sending an LG-4400. I was terrified. I'm not too much of a fan of LG. I find their phones to be less than mediocre. We shall see.

Motorola phone did have nice features. Excellent ring tones available, sweet design, but not great quality.

I look forward to the new phone. I will be sure to share my feelings about that one too. Beware, I'm pretty rough on a cell phone. My mom always says "You are very hard on phones."

I guess that's me...Rugged like my truck. Bring it on, baby.

I'm out...

worst motorola phone ever!

Don't get me wrong, I love the Motorola company. But, I felt they released this phone way too early. Battery life is the worst. I understand the color screen uses a lot of battery, but this is ridiculous. Menu is just not sensible. I miss my Startac. I think the Startac was the last great phone... personally.

a very good phone

overall this phone is the most excellent phone on the market. I like how u could download many things, like u cant do on other phones. I have had this phone for almost a year. This phone has never steered me wrong. it has great reception and good service from verizon. this is a great phone and i give it a 100% RATING.

No Problems with the T720

I've has this phone for almost a month now and I have had no problems with signal strength, dropped calls, loudness of the ringers, or battery strength. I'm with Alltel in Southern Virginia and I think that the T720 is one the the best phones out there.

No, no, no!

I work for a cell phone company and have had nothing but problems with this phone! It's a big mess. The battery is weak and rarely stays charged for longer than a day. It's not very user friendly and for someone who isn't really familiar with cell phones could be more hassle than worth dealing with. Sure, it's affordable, trendy, and popular ... but I wouldn't recommend it. The only positive thing I have to say about it, is it has some nice ringers. If that's not something that you're interested ... go with something else!

Ok phone

I used to have the V60I, and I think that V60I is 20 times better than the T-720. I just got this phone last week, and I am an employee of a Verizon Agent, and my V60 died, so I was given this phone to replace my V60.
I have the 1.2.22.19C software version, and the battery life and all seems to be OK so far, but is poor on standby time.
I wish it had more Voice Activated dialing, and when I scroll through my phone book, it is VERY slow.

Great phone with one glitch

Feb 21, 2003 by Frank Rustyak

I've had the T720 since November. I've had none of the problems I'm frequently hearing about - dropped calls, freezing, yada yada yada. As far as the electronics and the software goes, the phone has been great. My one problem with the phone is mechanical, of all things. Near the hinge of the phone there is a small rubber button that gets pressed down when the phone is closed, and that's how the phone knows whether the phone is flipped open or not - the same thing as the little button inside your refrigerator door :-) I've never seen this type of button on any other flip phone before. The button is flush with the surface of the phone. What happened to me is that the button somehow got pressed down and got stuck underneath the surface of the phone. Repeated opening and closing of the phone forced the button farther in and up below the surface. It got lodged far enough up there that when the phone was open, if I pushed the screen half of the phone back a little bit (which is what you do when you hold the phone up to your ear) it effectively pressed the button, even though the phone was fully open and not closed. I hung up on a few friends simply because I held the phone against my ear! This happened to me TWICE with two different phones. I am now currently on my third T720, the first two having been replaced by Verizon under warranty. I've searched in vain on different newsgroups and have not heard of anyone having this problem, and somehow it has happened to me twice. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one since I love everything else about it.

Good phone, great screen!

I just purchased a T720, 24 hrs ago. Great display, easy to use. Battery life, what battery life. Just ordered an extended battery from Verizon today. Wish there was an easier way to go from rings to vibrate like the LG and also wish an incoming call could be routed to voicemail with a touch of the button like the LG. Wish Verizon sold camera attachment for the CDMA version they sell. At least the phone holster swivels.
