Having previous experience in the wireless industry and having used many phones and carriers, I can only say thanks to moto for making this phone. I'm a heavy user (8000 minutes) per month and use a phone just for that purpose to make and receive calls clearly and anywhere. This phone does that and gives me the memories of the v60 in form and function. It really amazes me the resemblance. The battery life and reception are awesome, you can go almost 3 hours talk time before recharging. I dont care about transferring contacts(i store them in my brain that God gave me) and pictures and all the other things people want a phone to do(although i dont know why). BUY THIS PHONE!!!
WASTE OF MONEY
i have had this phone for only 6 months now. this phone was a waste of my money, time, energy and disappointment. i have never had a phone that was worse!

the mp3 player only played one of my songs...
when i put the charger in, i have to wrap the cord around my phone in order for it to charge.
the screen freezes
the screen turns black
the light sometimes stays on all the time. therefore killing my battery in about 2 hours. i have to turn it on and off for it to start acting right again.
it resets itself
i will never ourchase another motorola phone in my life... never ever again! my feelings are so hurt and in so not happy about this situatuion.
Looks good but dull and slow
Pros:
1) Sleekest design I have seen on a cell phone.
2) Buttons have a nicer layout than razrs, rokrs, rizrs, etc.
3) Excellent reception.
Cons:
1) Slow, very very slow.
2) USB port for power constantly unhinges itself.
The k1 is far superior do yourself a favor and get that version, this one looks great but sucks in terms of usability. I just deleted 110 inbox txts and 94 outbox txts. I left the phone open for a good 20 minutes... it was STILL deleting!!! wtf?!?!?! I cancelled it only to see it was done with the inbox but just started on the outbox.
Moto K1m for Sprint is a Great Phone
There is an incredible difference between the Sprint version and the Verizon version. I would suggest to PhoneSccop that they better qualify the reviews on phones that are on mutiple networks. I have used a friend's Verizon version and the menus are not very good compared to Sprint's version. Call quality is similar, but not as clear.
I've had the phone for a month now and still like it as much, if not more than the first day I got it.
Pros:
- Bluetooth actually works well! Transfer pictures, ringers, music, contacts, etc.
- Sound quality in the earpiece, speakerphone, and BT is phenomenal. Best I have ever heard.
- Design is really great. An eye catcher during any conversation.
- External controls for music player are incredibly cool. Nice bright blue color.
-Internet functions are flawless and work very well on my KRZR. No problems whatsoever. Applications like NFL mobile are great!
CONS:
- Menu's are a bit sluggish, but not that bad. Some people may say it's horrible but I think that is simply because they have their eye on another phone and need justification for getting rid of their KRZR. The menu is not bad at all.
- no external light or beep to let its owner know there is a voice mail, text message or missed call. This seems to be a new trend with all cell phones. I don't like it.
- Minor thing: I wish when you add a contact to your phonebook that you could also take a picture right from the entry like Samsungs do. You currently have to save the entry... go to your camera and take the picture, and then associate the picture with the new entry. The long way around, and that is why Samsung leads the market in their phone OS.
Honestly, I don't think think this phone deserves anything less than a 4 (from Sprint users). It has a great fit and finish, sound quality is great... but there are a few minor flaws. But, good luck finding a perfect cell phone... it doesn't exist. Be comfortable buying a KRZR from Sprint. A great little phone!
Nothing but a pretty phone!
I hate to be one to complain but I am huge into phones and I can break down a phone and tell you if its good or not right away. I have been nothing but disappointed with the krzr, so here is a list that hopefully will be helpful in making a decision.
Cons:
-Camera quality (not so great, no flash)
-Ringtones sound horrible an amplified
-Only one speaker that the placed on the back for some reason that is not to loud
No service light! (what phone has no service light what was motorola thinking?) now let me make clear what that means, no light that indicated you got a text message, voicemail, missed a call etc. Which means you have to constantly check your phone to see if you missed anything!
-No headset jack for listening to your mp3s! The phone has a lousy speaker and that is all you can listen to your music through!
-Whole entire software on the phone is SLOW, at least a 4 second delay to pull up the first 3 numbers you dial! If you receive a text while your texting the phone freezes for around 10 seconds!
-Phone does not support 1gb memory card honestly it will only hold 30 of my songs maybe I have them in the wrong format but my last phone I took the same card out of with the same music and it held 150 and it was not full yet
Pros:
-Good Battery Life
-Nice to look at
Let me just make a suggestion, if you use your phone for just phone calls then the phone is awesome, if you use features on a regular basis it is horrible and becomes a huge hassle, There are more negatives but I thought I would just list the ones that really make or break it for me.
It could be so much more...
CONs:
Software version 24.1_00.25.0C : Unable to set personalized ringers. Speakerphone will not turn on or off while on a call.
No predictive text. I don't mean T9, I don't mean iTAP, I mean I want the sweet predictive text capability integrated with normal abc entry mode that I had on previous Motos, ie: V710.
UI is hideous, non-customizable, and sluggish as always. Thanks to the UI, I now have to double the amount of keystrokes in order to create and address a text, and the worst bit is, I can't change my mind once I hit send. Thanks, VZW, for blithely mutilating another lovely little technological marvel.
Still no vibe then ring feature!
PROs:
Easily holds a signal in areas where my LG VX 8100s couldn't.
Decent speaker, esp. for the size. The other party comes in clear, I haven't had complaints about sounding faint/distorted, and it seems to be good at filtering out background noise.
Solid in my hand - I don't feel as if I'm going to drop it. The RAZR was too light and too wide and I just couldn't hold on to it while texting one-handed.
For the small size, the screens are quite nice.
The buttons are small, but easy to text on in comparison to the RAZR. They have more definition and are raised a tad in the center for ease of use.
The camera is flush with the flip surface and covered in clear overlay for protection.
All in all, it's a nice phone and I'll keep it. But if it had a Moto UI, vibe then ring feature, old-style predictive text, and no Vcast music software interfering with upload capabilities, only then would it be a FAB phone.
Nothing but PROBLEMS!
I purchased the Fire version of this phone on February 9th. At first I thought this was the coolest phone ever. Everything worked great. Shortly after my 15 day trial period ran out I started to experience odd problems. The screen would turn all white and blank and buttons would not work. Later it would turn black. The outside screen displayed carrier name and acted like the phone was always open. I called carrier and they replaced with warranty replacement on March 19th. What a JOKE!! The replacement came, and out of the box would not work. I put the battery in and the phone started displaying invalid battery and unauthorized charger when there were no charger even plugged in to it. I plan to send it back and request a different phone altogether.
bad for Verizon
I know that all Verizon phones have the same interface. The interface cripples this phone.
Everything is slow. Bring up your phone book? Wait a few seconds. Want to send SMS, go through 6 steps just to start typing. MP3 player? Takes about 15 seconds to get to your music while navigating through a maze of menus. But before you even get to that, good luck setting up the phone with your media player. Bluetooth? Did someone mention bluetooth? Take a technology capable of fast picture and music sharing, and shatter it with DRM and disabled profiles.
What are you left with? A phone. That's all, a wireless telephone with a decent color screen and above average battery life that will occasionally inspire an "ooh" and "aah" from 13 year old girls because there is a shiny mirror on the front.
I know everyone reading this is thinking it, and I'll say it. "Verizon you cheap bastards! Why must you have a good calling plan, which is the sole reason you still have so many customers?"
Nothing but a pretty face
I got this phone mainly because it was the newest one out (figuring I'd be stuck with it for 2 years I wanted one of the top of the lines). Long story short- I will likely be returning it early this week after having it only a few days. Check out the following:
PROS:
*Super cool design
*Camera has lots of editing/effects options
*Very slim- fits anywhere
*Fits well in hand
*Excellent sound
*Good signal
*Battery Life is pretty good
CONS:
*VERIZON UI! What's the point of getting a spiffy new phone when a free cheapy looks and behaves exactly the same? Part of the reason I'm returning it- it simply can't do anything that my LG 8100 can't.
*ITap texting. It just sucks. Take my word for it- T9 is way better. Maybe I'm just technologically inept but programming the dictionary is difficult and switching words has yet to be discovered (it's not the "0" as it is on most phones)
*Ringers on the phone aren't great
*Camera has no flash
*Have yet to figure out what the side buttons do (besides control volume)
*Front smudges easily
If you have a decent phone right now that you can live with, I would definitely wait for something else. I have to say, I just might stick with my trusty LG after a software upgrade unless Verizon decides to change all the standardized UIs. Phone really doesn't have all the bells and whistles I would expect for something so cool looking. Eh, hopefully LG comes out with something other than the chocolate (i'm a die hard flip phone fan). I wouldn't recommend this for people who really want something that is functionally, as well as visually, cool. But, if you just want a bad *** looking phone and don't care about anything else, this does the job.

Poorly received... er, I mean poor reception.
I was anxious to get this phone and was the 1st at my local Circuit City to pick it up. I had tried a RAZR earlier this month, but dumped it due to poor reception.
When I came back for the K1m, the salesperson warned me that the reception would be no better than the RAZR because it had the same "guts."
Boy, was he right. My 3 year old VX-4500 gave me 5 bars of signal strength in my home. The K1m varied between 2-3 in the same places. The speakerphone on the VX-4500 is awesome. Good, strong sound w/little distortion. The K1m always sounds like it's pushing its limit. Kind of tinny sounding at times.
The outside display is also disappointing. Hello. Baby boomers are comprising a huge portion of the buying public. How about making the outer screen more legible? And making the fonts larger and visible when the phone is closed. The VX-4500 has an LCD display that is large and ALWAYS visible.
And the side buttons are very hard to locate when not looking at them. Not very tactile. Plus they are hard to push.
One other thing- almost 8% of all men are Red/Green colorblind. Get a clue and get rid of all the red in the screens. It's almost invisible at times. At least off a menu option to change the scheme?
