Love / Hate Relationship ...

Jun 2, 2007 by PixieDust

I just switched to Verizon because I wanted this beautiful phone. In four days I've exchanted it for the same phone 4 times already due to it locking up on me.

The last exchange seemed to be working pretty well. But then I realized, the ringtones and pictures I downloaded paid for to use as "Personalized Ringtones" don't work at ALL!!

I called Verizon and they said it's a hit and miss with these phones due to them being so new, and that they are all pretty much like that, and that there are always bugs with them, but said they can just keep exchanging it for me till they find one that works. Like I need to waste my time going back and forth to find a phone that works! Not cool. And there is no software update as of yet to fix it. I don't think they should charge full price OR sell it UNTIL it works properly. That is one of the reasons I bought the phone in the first place.

Now on the good side... the phone is BEAUTIFUL! Sleek, shiny, and sexy! I got it in the black, which looks like charcoal grey. The red was too orange-ish for me. The ringtones play loud and very clear. The sound quality during a call is crystal clear as well. The keypad is a little small due to it being a slimmer phone, but I've had no problems texting or dialing, and I do have big hands for a girl. The screen is bright and vibrant.

I'm considering exchanging this phone though due to the fact that all the features don't work, and I paid good money for it. And I think they shouldn't sell a phone that doesn't work properly. I know it's just a small thing, but to me, it's unexceptable. But I'm paying for that feature! I will be going to the Verizon store Monday to see if I can find a phone with all the same features that is sleek and pretty like this one. We'll see.

All in all, I LOVE the phone! But Motorola or Verizon should be more on top of their game especially when they charge full price for a phone that doesn't work. I'm rather bummed out, I really like the phone....

Not Krazy about the KRZR

Jun 2, 2007 by katsmit4408

When I first got this phone in November of 2006, I thought it was amazing. I thought the style was unique and the features seemed worthwhile. And for the first month or so they were. After that ,however, things went downhill REALLY fast. The face of the phone scratches insanely easy, the buttons are TINY, it freezes often and sometimes the data calls are horribly slow. The text message features are horrible. I've already had to buy a new battery, which is a first for me and something I was a little dissapointed about due to only having the phone 6 months. My cell phone dealer said that a lot of people have had to buy new batteries really early for this phone because the phone has so many draining features its impossible to keep the battery charged. Instead of having a phone that has one or two features that work really well, I have a phone with a dozen or so "features" that hardly work at all. Plus all the extra money I had to spend getting the Mp3 player set up was hardly worth it. There's no middle road for this phone. Some of the options are worse than I've seen on any cell phone while others are good. It seems that Motorola tried fitting so much junk in a little phone that in the end...well, it is junk. Completely worthless. This is DEFINATELY not a phone that you can successfully use and be satisified for over 10 months. I wish I would of kept my LG phone.

Good phone--not as advertised

May 31, 2007 by jporter188

I have had the KRZR K1M for about a month. I like the phone. Here it is in pros and cons!

Pros:
Small size: It fits in my pocket nicely.
Interface: I like the new contact options over the E815. I can assign multiple numbers to one contact.
Volume: It did have good volume up until a few days ago--I don't know what happened to that.
Screen: The screen is clear.
Camera: the camera is so so but usable.

Cons:
No bluetooth stereo headset.
No outside volume control.

The biggest con of all is not as advertised. I thought this phone played music--and it does after if you like mono or through the phone speaker. Does anybody want that? NO. Motorola and Verizon need to be more forthcoming with their disclosures about their equipment.

Nice job Moto

Pros:
Motorola
Quality, style and features

Cons:
Verizon disabling or turning off most of the cool features

Conclusion:
Love the phone, Motorola keeps getting better and better. Wish Verizon would let the phone do what Motorola designed it to do.

I’m starting to see why a lot of my friends bad talk Verizon Wireless and like the other service providers.

MP3'S for ringtones

May 5, 2007 by stringbean321

Just purchased the Krazr and need help. Ive been told that MP3's can be used for personal ringtone. Is there any software out there that would allow me to crop my favorite part of a song and download it to my phone?

US Cellular always block the use of a data cable so I am shocked that they released phones that would allow you to download MP3's. Is there such a software or has US Cellular blocked this option?

Really Nice Cellphone!

I just got this phone two days ago and I love it! It's lightweight, easy to use, and filled with all the awesome Bells and Whistles that a cellphone needs...

Pros:
Great camera, Bluetooth, lightweight, Bright Screen, Great Ringtone Quality and Volume, MP3 on outside (unlike the RAZR)

Cons:
Prone to fingerprints! (Get a Snap on Case)

I LOVE IT!!!! (Verizon white)

I love this phone. I had to get out of my EnV because I had NO service ANYWHERE!!! I live in a hard reception area and this phone works great! I can make and hold calls perfectly! It is a solid phone! I love the screen sizes and the keypad size. The outer keys dont change your volume so you can't turn the phone to vib or silent in your pocket/purse.
Pro's:
Great Size
Great Looking
Perfect Reception
Loud
Inner and Outer Screen can have different wallpapers
Charging port on side (I hate when its at the bottom, it bugs my finger while I'm texting... I guess I hold my phone funny!)
Good Camera
Great battery life ( I use my phone all day and it stays charged throughout the day)

CON'S:
I don't really have any! Normally I would say the standard UI but its growing on me and I actually prefer it now!

An all around great phone!

Good upgrade from the Razr! (Alltel)

Apr 17, 2007 by mw717

I purchased this phone as a replacement for my Razr V3c. So far, the phone has been performing well. Bluetooth works well with my Mac (as the Razr did) Dial up networking is flawless and so is bluetooth OBject EXchange. Signal strength and call quality are excellent. I live in the Akron/Canton Alltel service area. I am thankful everyday that Alltel hasn't "Verizon-ized" the user interface as transferring files from my old Razr to my Krazr was easy and fast.

Pros: Motorola quality, lavish bluetooth features, dial-up networking, added features, sleek styling, MP3 player, rubberized backing.

Cons: Not compatible with iSync (as of April 2007), Sluggish UI when working with a Trans-Flash card, hard to remove battery cover, keypad.

Nice Mid Ranger phone

even though motorola classifies this as a high end phone i do not belive it do be. The software thanks to verizon is lousy. constant lags and freeze ups.

the phone it self works well. battery could be better. this phone dies on me at around 9 o clock at night, but i do around 300 texts and use the music player. add on my use of the phone 1 to 2 hours it dies. the odd thing about this phone is doesnt always loose battery at the same rate. somedays i will have low battery and some days i will have 2 bars. very confusing. was going to buy an extended battery but its not worth the money, just pop the phone into a charger for like 30 minutes and it will rejuice it enough.

Can't Hear!!

Apr 4, 2007 by traveler1604

I purchased this phone based on size, battery life and menu functions. I liked all aspects of the phone, except the volume would not go up loud enough to hear unless there was absolutely no background noise. I returned the phone thinking that it was defective, but the new one was just as bad.

On the second return, the Verizon employee said that he had been given one for his "work phone" but could not use it for the same reason.

Unless you want to always use Bluetooth headset, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.

Pros:
Menu
Size
Battery life

Cons: Volume too low to hear
