iPhone 6 Plus vs Note 4

I've had the Note 4 since it became available for VZW. I recently traded my iPhone 4 plus for a iPhone 6 Plus. After a week carrying both devices (yes I was packing two large phones at the same time just for comparison sake) I am sharing some observations:

1) Fingerprint scanner for lock screen - the Note 4 is a waste of time. I only get it to work about 40% of the time. The iPhone works without fail.

2) Display - The Note 4 obviously outperforms the iPhone in clarity due to the lower resolution of the iPhone.

3) Battery life - The iPhone significantly outperforms the Note 4. I am finishing my 2nd day of charge with the iPhone and at the time of this post I have 62% battery remaining. That is not possible with my Note 4.

4) 4G Reception - The Note 4 is much more adept at getting and holding 4G signal. I was sitting in the men's room stall (of all places and sorry for the reference) but I was in a multi-story commercial building and tried opening facebook on my iPhone. It partially opened but wouldn't load the graphics. About 60 seconds later I opened the app with my Note 4 and FB loaded 100% within a couple seconds. The iPhone stopped trying to load the page and never finished.

5) I like the photos produced by the Note 4 better. The iPhone pictures are a little more grainy and refined.

Final Thoughts: On the iPhone, I really like how Face Time works so well and also how you can send a voice recordinjg in a text message (iMessage). But if I had to choose between the two I would definitely take the Note 4. It is after all primarily for communication so better signal comes first.

iPhone 6 Plus Nightmare

This review is an update. My 128GB iPhone 6 Plus turned into a brick on the 28th day of owning it. The phone powers itself off randomly and presents a red screen followed by the Apple logo and back again. After my 3rd tech support call with Apple they finally agreed to replace the phone. Having done a little search on the web I found that this is becoming a known problem. There are youtube videos showing it as well.
I purchased probably the most expensive phone available and it lasted 28 days, Most unfortunate. Hoping I won't end up with a re-manufactured phone.
