Is 8600 best choice for small new phone from Verizon?

It's time for me to get a new phone -- I've got the ancient Motorola 120e and the lack of a good predictive text function and dictionary is driving me batty.

Mostly, I want a phone with decent battery life (at least as good as my 120e, I'm not hard to please...), good text msging, nice loud voice quality and few to no dropped calls. I'm also looking for a slim/small profile.

I don't really care about much else; I've been putting off choosing for ages b/c I don't like ANY of the Verizon phones available right now. People are saying to wait for this LG 8600. Would you guys agree? It seems like there isn't anything really great right now at Verizon.

Thanks for the advice/feedback!

Actually Verizon has a lot of good phones, that just happened to be less than they should be due to a clunky UI and missing (manufacturer) features.

I think i am going to go with the 8600, will probably order it soon.

My sister has the Cingular RAZR, she is quite happy with it. The Cingular version uses the standard Motorola interface wheras the Verizon RAZR uses the Verizon UI (an old version of it.)

WHile i dont have the 8600 as of yet, i would pretty much still say its the phone to have from Verizon.
