I work at Radio Shack. I've had experience handling and selling most of the top phones for Sprint and Cingular. I just bought a Katana of my own and decided to check what the forums said about the phone. After hearing what both sides had to say, I decided to give my own opinion.

First of, The Katana is made by Sanyo which makes it a good phone right off. Now before everyone calls me bias, notice the noun I used. Phone. While other companies focus on fitting in MP3's, megapixel cameras, and other devices into a cell phone; Sanyo's expertise and focus has always been in the actual "phone". Thanks for the nice reply.. I have an 8400 but my friend on my account I just got her a pink Katana which I will give her tomorrow. She had the 8200 before so this phone should be great for her. The ringers that come with this phone are at least as loud as on the 8200 right? My friend doesn't do internet so this was perfect for her. I wanted this phone for the longest time but I had the 8300 after the 8200 and I was hooked on the louder AAC/ma4 ringers so I chose the 8400 instead. I didn't care about the mini card or playing MP3's but coming from the 8300 I just wanted more space and bluetooth which I got both..
