No 3.5mm headset jack... and adapters don't work, this sucks..

I was pretty dissapointed to find that this phone doesn't have a 3.5mm headset jack on it. The headphones that came with it are cheap and I was hoping to be able to plug my ipod headphones into the phone. I bought a 2.5 to 3.5mm adapter on ebay which didn't work. I noticed the plug on the headset has 4 connection rings on it, not 3 like a regular headset; so this is probably why the adapter didn't work.

Does anyone know of a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter out there that would work? Or how about a nice set of headphones that would work; just a standard headset, I don't need the microphone for it. Or maybe another idea all together.....

Maybe it'd work if you stuck the male end in your clamshell

I understand any bluetooth headphones will work with this phone but haven't tried (anyone?).

The tip and ring configuration for mobile two-way headets is buggered for standard stereo headsets (note there is a third ring on the supplied stereo headset, not just two) that's why your adapter doesn't supply stereo sound. When you plug a stereo set into the phone's headset jack the phone is trying to use one of the stereo earpieces as the microphone.

In order to use regular headphones you'll need to build yourself an adapter to use that third (furthest back toward the wire) ring as the second stereo channel.

You can get this adaptor remember this is also a HEADSET jack so its not just 3 conductor (left right ground) its FOUR conductor left right mic ground.

So you can not use a stereo 2.5 to 3.5 adaptor you need a 4 conductor 2.5mm to 3 conductor 3.5mm

If like me you have a few of these "sets" hanging around from other music capable phones you can chop one up and solder on a 3 conductor normal stereo plug to the correct wires. if you get creative you can also leave in the mic and now can make a call without having to unplug the headphones :-) I have not done this yet I am not sure if you would hear the call in stereo (well joint stereo ie mono sent out of both earphones)

You can buy one from places like best buy I think its around $8-$1...
