So dissappointed!!!
Just got the 8400 in today and boy does it look CHEAP!!! Looks kind of like the 2400 with a camera and feels like the Motorola C290. What a piece!!!! I am soo dissappointed.

How did you get it? It doesn't launch until October 1st, they're not supposed to be sold until then.

They didn't buy it: they got it in the Sprint store. I am extremely disappointed as well. I thought it would be worth the hype; however, it looks like the Fusic will be my phone of choice at the moment. The numeric key pad is terrible on the 8400 and the new menu background is truly lame. It is rumored to be just $100 after rebate, so it is your money, but like I said the Fusic is the wiser investment.

Personally I like it. It's much cooler than I thought it would be. To get those features together in one Sanyo is an accomplishment to say the least.
The faceplate thing is freakin weird though!! 😕

Yea im not a fan of the faceplate on it, but my store has it for free right now
...
The faceplate just makes it look ever more cheap. I think it is a total waste of money.

I LOVE the phone, the mask feature is unique and i like unique doesnt feel all the cheap to me...doesnt feel AS durable as the rugged 7000 series but still...thats not what it is

Nice phone with nice features, but it does look really cheap. It looks especially cheap with the lame faceplate it comes with. Looks like something you'd buy at Toys R us.
...
It looks like a $10 Pay as you GO phone.

Looks like...looks like...looks like. I own a 7400 AND the 8400 and even though the 8400 isnt covered in rubber it's durable, i had it two days and have already dropped it on concrete and nothing happened, and i was running when it flew out and hit the ground...so ya. It may LOOK cheap but it doesnt FEEl it in my eyes. Great phone, great features, more durable then MANY other phones currently out.
