I just downloaded the vz navigator off of get it now and was just getting familiar with it when I noticed something odd. Now I know the chocolate does not have a speakerphone but when I used vz navigator on the find a destination setting it clearly shouted the directions, I have had a speakerphone handset and I know how one sounds this clearly sounded like a speakerphone on the chocolate???? weird huh???? dont believe me TRY it I think you can download vz navigator for a trial ver right now!!!

I think that the definition of a "Speakerphone" is that you do not only hear the sound from the speaker but you also can say things through the speaker and the other person may hear what you're saying.
well, at least that's what my phone does right now...
I can't wait until I change my phone to Chocolate!! 😁

The phone contains an extra speaker aside from the one you listen to during conversations. This is the speaker where the ringtones, game sounds, VZ Navigator, MP3's, etc. etc., come out, but at current can't be utilized during phone conversations. Crazy. 😕 Don't know why they'd do that, but there you have it!

seems like an softrware upgrade could fix it easily. thing is, alot of verizon "upgrades" tend to lock down cool features. so found out first what a firmware update will change on your phone.

quick question

can you use the 'speakerphone' (once vz navigator is installed) to at least 'hear' what is being said when talking?

i don't need the caller to 'hear me' through the speaker phone... but i need to hear the caller (i do customer support)

is this possible with the chocholate?

thanks

The sales rep in the Verizon store told me there was no speaker either, not even for Navigator, i thought that was ridiculous, well when i got in the car, downloaded VZ Nav, it started talking to me as well, a quick glance at the phone and i noticed the speaker on the back of the phone, thats all i wanted the speaker for anyway so im happy!
