Well...I looked at some other web sites and this is how you do it

Menu-0000000-Network Select-Mode Preference-1X only.

Hope it helps..I know I am trying it.

Dumb questions....does disabling the EVDO make the GPS VZ Navigator and/or the Get It Now functions un-useable? I can't see why that would be related but I'm not sure I fully understand what EVDO even is, except that it allows broadband access?

Well I am still able to use all my functions such as get it now and the internet...not sure about the GPS...All I think it does is stop the broadband capability (High speed Transfer)...but not too sure....If anyone else know please comment

Vcast uses EV-Do, which is a data network that allows for broadband speeds. Get it Now, VZ Navigator, and Mobile Web use 1x, a slower speed data network.

It's likely that I will get this phone. Does anyone know if you can disable all data (digital service only) because I rarely use any of these things and all I know is that my old AT&T TDMA phones (digital only no data) got exceptional battery life while my current VZW phone Audiovox 8910 uses 1x and battery isnt nearly as good.
