I called Motorola today to inquire about the Motorola Phone Tools v.4. I was told that Verizon has a block on the software and we can't use the multimedia to get new ringtones. They have the hello moto ringtone on the software. Is this true?

That is correct. Verizon does block the capapbility to use MPT with the phone but you can do a SEEM edit on the phone in order for the phone to work.

A SEEM edit is basically changing the codes inside your phone so that specific features will work and not work. For example, by doing a seem edit you can have the razr vib then ring, have moto style profiles (loud, soft, vib. etc...) instead of master vokume etc...
A seem edit can truly f**k up your phone if you don't know what your doing. There is a ton of information out there and it can be overwhelming. I suggest doing a seem edit only if you are computer savvy.
