CU500 Guru needed!
I just picked up a CU500. My father has the same phone. Now we would like to get a USB cable for syncing phonebook entries and new ring tones.
Having read through MANY threads I’m still pretty foggy on this stuff. Why can’t this be easier (like S/E phones!)? I have a few questions:
- Is there a reliable USB cable other than the OEM one (i.e. cheaper)?
- Is there any reliable software out there for syncing to the phone? Since I’m not interested in transferring mp3s, photos, etc, strictly speaking mass storage isn’t going to help with numbers and tones (well maybe tones, dunno).
- Do I have to have a microSD to sync with the CU500?
I simply can’t find a straight answer to all this. Help!

I bought a cable from TalkAccessories, It was 29.95 but works very well. As far as software, there is a program you can download from the net called GThing. It costed 9.95 but it also works well for ringtones pics and such. Hope that helps.

Regarding software, there is a software suite, similar to mototools, that was developed by LG for this phone. It provides quite a few functions including syncing with Outlook. For some unknown reason, it is not provided in the US or on the Cingular website. However, if you go to the Cingular forums and search for t...
