Change my Plan?

I'm up for my new every two 😁. So, I check the web site and they say I can get this phone as part of my new every two, but only if I change my calling plan. What calling plan are they going to require of me to get this phone?

I'm on an old area wide plan right now (39.99 600 min) and have no problems switching to a nationwide version. However I need to not get on a rate plan higher than 39.99. I just don't use that many minutes.

So, what gives?

yeah to get this phone you will have to switch to an America's Choice Calling plan. Some of the standard features this phone uses will require the change. (national enhanced service, and premium network service to name a couple) To stay on a 39.99 plan you will take a hit on your minutes. From 600 to 450. But thats unlimited in calling, nationwide calling, and no roaming. Sounds like you were on a digital choice plan or something similar. If you don't really call or travel out of state then its kinda sucks you will lose 150 minutes, but like you said "I just don't use that many minutes."

Unfortunatelly, you are going to prob have next to no choice and up your plan to accomadate minutes, as liquified said. 150 minutes is a lot to loose, I know i wouldnt be able to lose that many. I am not sure whether that $39.99 plan is eligable in the new every two, I remember them saying somethign about a minimum of a $49.99 a year contract agreement, but I could be horribly mistaken. My suggestion is to take a ride to the local VZ store and ask them, be weary of them trying to sell you on an extremely high plan you do not need however. Also, if you intend on this phone, you are going to need a lot of extra side cash a month for the EV-DO, ringtones, pictbridge (imagine there is no way they would let that slide free), etc.....

EVDO is free, ringtones can be made. Not sure about the pictbridge. Now you will have to pay for access to mobile web, and Vpak. Anyone know if this phone is a Navigator phone?

$39.99 will get you 450 peak min on America's Choice as stated previously. No big deal in making the change... if, as you said, you don''t use many minutes. 150 probably isn't much to lose since you may not have unlimited NW now and almost certainly don't have unlimited IN. Odds are good that at least 150min a month would fall under those categories. If your really not sure, call care. Any rep following the guidelines they should be (speaking from an internal perspective) should have no problem analyzing your pattern and making sure its the best choice.

The only other thing to consider is that the NE2 program is changing. It doesn't affect this purchase, but in 2 years it will be tiered. Meaning that if you are still on the 39....
