I was looking to get this phone myself and noticed that as well. I went to a local Cingular store about it and they told me it had something to do with the battery overheating (?). They said that the ZX-10 also had this problem and that Cingular is planning to pull that phone also.

Not sure why they dropped it for sure but I'm guessing it has something to do with the QC on this series.

I got the phone because of a mixup in shipping😛 but the battery shorted out within the first 3 weeks. When 3G service became available I started dropping calls left and right....I'm almost thinking bad firmware???? but could never find a newer firmware.

Just an update, sent in for an RMA on the phone with some co-workers and the model remains the same but the part number on the phone has changed.......my guess is that they realized there was a problem, stopped sale, corrected the problems, and re-released it....similar to what was done with the razer's awhile back.

With the replacement phone I haven't dropped a call yet (ok, only a few days so far but still).
