Uploading pix from a640 directly to↨pc

Am thinking of buying a Samsung A640, and the *only* thing I want to do with photos is get them onto my PC for editing, printing and emailing. Don't want to buy Web access for the phone. Don't want to print directly via PictBridge. Have no Bluetooth wi-fi on PC, don't want to go that way. That leaves USB, I think. Both machines have USB capabilities. So what software and/or drivers would I need? Seems to me this oughtta be fairly simple. Here's PC specs:

HP Media Center A1240n
Windows XP Media Center Edition v.2002sp2

and for the camera:

Bluetooth Supported Profiles: HSP, HFP, DUN, OPP (vCard only)version 2.0
Infrared (IR) - no
PC Sync - no
SDIO - no
USB Yes
Wi-Fi - no

Don't know much at all about Bluetooth. Could it be...

Well I sure hope you had better luck than I did ??
I still have not been able to get connected to download some pictures I took in December. I really wonder if there is software out there that works or is there a setting ?? that I am overlooking. My local Bell/Aliant dealer was smiling all the way to the Bank the day I purchased the cable ($52) but didn't have the software at their location.

HELP !!!
