Bad Speakers?

honkey

After having the 8300 for less than 12 hours I seem to have blown out the speakers. It all started with Ringtone #6 which had lots of static. I tried the speakerphone phone and it's even worse. I thow an MP3 on there and it's nearly unlistenable. W.T.F?!?!?! Otherwise, I love it. Do I just have a lemon?

THIS IS THE WHOLE POINT!!! The people who like the VX-8300 are those whose phone is working okay, but there is way too high a number of lemons coming off the production line, indicating poor engineering/quality control. I am not willing to throw the dice and take a chance of getting a bad one, when the probability is so high.

Yeah, that sucks. I hope they will replace it, too bad there is nothing else that is an adequate replacement.

Unfortunately, thats the problem with every cellphone. Not just LGs. I'm sure you have heard as many horror stories with motos, samsungs or any other brand out there. There is not a lot of quality control in the cellphone business, it seems. I'm not sure there can be. A phone that Verizon buys themselves for $150 probably starts out from the factory at about $20. Then ypi have the shipping and multiple middle men getting their piece of the action before it ends up at Verizon. What can you expect from a $20 piece of electronics anyway?

OK, they hesitated but gave me a new 8300. Speakers are as bad if not worse. Even at half volume, the speakerphone crackles and buzzes. The 8100 never had this problem. Two lemons in a row? Anyone ever hear of a bad batch? I'm really not that picky, but this is my sixth phone in less than three weeks. Maybe my old samsung a890 spoiled me.

I'm not a blind Moto lover 😎 but I did have a blown out speaker as well. I ordered 2 8300s, one for my wife and one for me. Her's was fine; mine popped lightly with the speaker phone and ringtones. I just went to the store this afternoon and got a replacement. 😁 Everything seems fine now and I'm happy as is my wife. The girl at the store hadn't heard of any problems with the speakers so far, so I don't know what it believe. I guess just don't crank it too loud. 👀

I blew out both speakers in my 8100 and know someone else who had one of them go out. I do believe you just got a lemon but it can happen. It happened to mine after about 6 months though and I never use speakerphone and rarely use the "mp3 player", sorry I mean music player.

At least be glad it happended to you after 12 hours, rather than on the 15th day !
🤣

Seriously, I have had no problems with mine but I'm not an audiophile. Some people think their phones should produce sounds like a set of B&W's.

That being said, speakers may be one of the VERY few weak links on this phone. Mine do hiss a bit- have since day 1.
