Great phone... there is nothing i don't like about it, except....
I have many many mp3s that play anywhere and everywhere else, but on this phone i rcv a message, "unsupported file" ☚ī¸
I've tried about 20 different mp3s... different bitrates... no success.

Anybody know why?

Perhaps I can help. How did you get the mp3 to the phone? Did you use PC Studio III? Did you upload it to the Music folder on the phone? When you play the mp3 file, do you use the menu fron Fun and Apps/File Manager/Music, then select My Music, highlight the file you want to play, select Play?

Hi... I appreciate the reply...
Yes, the files were transferred using PC Studio III and the usb connection. I first tried uploading the files to the phone's music folder, then to the trans-flash card.. Then I transferred the files directly to the memory card using my PC's card reader.
I tried starting the mp3s the way you described, and also by starting the mp3 player from the media menu. Same thing each time... "unsupported file. These are mp3s that play on my pc using windows media player or winamp. They also play on my portable Iriver mp3 player,so I know the files are good. Images I upload via usb are fine... I'm at a loss...

It seems lke you may have a defective t609, since mine works OK. Call Samsung at 1(88😎987-4357 and request support. I called them a couple times and learned they have 3 levels of support people. The hours of operation at 9:15 AM to 7:15 PM EST. They will ask for information like the ID number of the phone, under the battery, your contact info, and will give you a number to write down. The next time you ever call, that number will save you having to give them all that info again.

Hi there. I was having the same problem with that. I notice that some of my songs I have on my pc are wav. files too so you might want to get a converter. I use dBpowerAmp Converter 10.1. Now I can play any song I want as long as I convert it. If you have any questions let me know.

thanks... i do wish that's all it was... but all my music is mp3 format and I am very carefull about all my rips. All are good quality mp3s, lowest bitate is 160. So far, only about 1 out of every 5 will play on the phone, and there's no common characteristic. Oh well... I didn't get it as an mp3 player, and it is a great phone otherwise. Thanks to all for suggestions!

Having the same problem. Not sure but I think that only the VBR files have this problem... The ones below or equal to 192kb and not VBR seem to play just fine.

cezar .... you have nailed it !!!

** VBR files... will not play
** bitrate greater than 192 ... will not play
** everything else .... plays just fine 😁

Excellent cezar! Now I can play everything I have by just copying and converting whatever isn't what the phone likes.

Thanks so much. This is exactly what these forums are for. People generously sharing their time and knowledge. Thanks to all who contributed.
