When will 6133 (NOT the 6131) be available unlocked?

I MUCH prefer the keyboard to that of the 31 or 26.

Also, anyone know if the few unlocked 6133's being sold on eBay will work with Cingular?

They will work for phone calls, but MMS, picture, text messaging and voicemail will be blocked. The firmware is crippled so that the settings can't be changed.

IMO the 6133 will never be released unbranded/unlocked. It is carrier specific.

Incorrect. I sold unlocked 6133s before you offered your opinion. They work fine with T-Mobile.

You missed my point. Yes, you can unlock the 6133 to use a different sim card with them, but if you can't change the MMS, text or voicemail settings it is a waste of money to buy one, except to use on T-mobile. You can sell them unlocked, but that phone, unless flashed to the 6131's firmware, will not be able to be used to its full capabilities on another carrier. T-mobile blocks changing the settings.

Yes, they will work fine for T-mobile, because the settings are in the firmware.

Thanks for clarifying. It's a good thing they work for T-mobile as they are my only GSM carrier. Cheers!
