MMS and Misc. Issues w/ Cingular

deceive

May 17, 2006, 12:27 PM
I've been using the 810i with cingular for about a week now. Love the phone. I had the w600 before this, but have noticed a few things missing. For one, I can't find out how to turn the time on during standby. Anyone have any ideas about this?

Also, my incoming MMS messages are being resized somehow, so I end up with these 160x120 pictures when I forward them to my email or PC. My w600 kept the original image size when it received images and so forth when I sent to them to my email.

Lastly, the phone mentions nothing about EDGE, only GSM and GPRS in the profiles. Does GSM = EDGE?

Thanks,
nathan

GSM does not = EDGE.

I don't know what to tell you about images being resized.

I remember something about the standby clock in Phone Scoop's review, try checking that, but I'm pretty sure it can't be done.

There is no special configuration to get EDGE working on an EDGE-enabled phone. If you have the GPRS working, and EDGE is offered by Cingular in your area, than your phone should be using EDGE.

You can tell if you have an EDGE signal, you should see a small "E" to the top left of the signal strength bars. If there is no EDGE then the top of the signal strength bars will be filled in with a solid triangle.
