Battery and Hissing Issues

Somehow people on the net as well as on phonescoop ratings seems to be complaining about hissing while playing audio (playback?). However, I get hissing while on a conversation. The person on the other line asks me if there is a wind blowing by, or a waterfall. Do you guys have this problem? Is there a way to know what verzion of software I have on my sony W810i?

In addition when you guys say you get 5 hours of talk time, does it mean you can continously talk on the phone for 5 hrs and not have the batttery run out on you? I am getting only 1 hr of talk time. Is this normal?

Sounds like you got a bad unit. I get 7 hours of talking out of my w810 and no hissing at all.

When you say 7 hrs of talking time does it mean 7 hrs of continous talk time or it includes standby+talk time?
And by hissing I mean if i remain quiet, there would be a "shhhhhhh" noise.

No hissing on my w810. No caller complaints either. Had it for 1 month with considerable use.
