FM Transmitter qaulity ? LX-550 vs SE w810i - how to choose ?

I have been waiting for a good music phone and can go with either a GSM provider or Sprint if I choose the Fusic. I had my mind set on the SE w810i with the drawbacks of not supporting FM trasmitter or stereo Bluetooth headsets. I seen the other post about FM transmit not being the greatest and would like to hear more about that, is it poor qaulity or distorted that makes it only so so ? Does it compare to tape qaulity playback ?

The other deciding point is the stereo bluetooth headset, how does that qaulity compare to wired headset ? would love to get rid of the wires but if the sound takes a big hit I would choose dealing with the wires.

ANyone have experience or compared these two phones ?

i've tried it once so far and it's not horrible. if you get a channel that's completely static-filled, then it works great, but in a car, that will fluctuate. But if you're just going to use it at home, then i think it's great. quality is really good...honestly though, i haven't used tapes in a while, so I can't even remember what they sounded like. *shrug*

I agree I have the Fusic Lg and it works great at home but while on the road in your car unless you have ur phone really close to the radio its pretty bad. ☚ī¸

I had a chance to use my fusic with the FM transmitter alot this weekend. Its actually better than I thought. I have a Pontiac Vibe, which actually has a electrical outlet on the dash. I dont know if it actually made a difference but when I plugged the phone in to charge and used the FM transmitter to listen to music it really sounded good. As far as Bluetooth headset goes. I have the Plantronics Pulsar 590 and it sounds great. Much, much better to me than the ear buds that come with the phone. The handfree/stereo headset bluetooth profile is pretty darn cool. Its not perfect for me in this reguard. I am listening to music, call comes in, music pauses, I hit a button on the headset to answer the call, when the call is over hit a but...

fm transmitter - impressed
I drive a mazda3 and it works well. The fm transmitter on my ipod work a little better, but how good should you expect a PHONE to work? I have noticed that some cars transmit better than others so you'll have to try it yourself.

The FM Trans on this phone in my car is a bit shaky. You have to find the "perfect" spot for it in your can and firmly adjust it. The only place where is works in my car is RIGHT up to the radio, which is very inconvienient; I don't really believe the type of car effects the transmitter...I drive an 2006 Scion TC; I tried it on a couple of friends' cars: 06 Civic and 04 Accord, 04 Toyota RAV4, all had the same problem...but I am pretty confident that with a firm stand right up to the radio the FM Trans will work decently.

I actually agree with mikk, it DOES depend on the car your in, or at least the antenna and stereo of the car you're in. I too have an i-pod transmitter and the Fusic worked just as good as it. My particular car (or car stereo/ antenna) however seems to be the problem as to why mine gets some static, because in my friends car it sounds CLEAR AS A BELL! Only way to know for sure is to try it. You'll get 30 days right? 🙂

FM transmitter sucks. It's good in theory because it technically works. But don't think that playing your playlist from the Fusic will be like popping in a CD.. Not in a million years, unless you put the phone in the back windshield next to the ant. And good luck having your phone in the back windshield!!! Alot of work for lil pay off. MY suggestion, get a cd deck with one of those lil Audio jacks in the front. Then connect the phone directly throught that. USe the FM transmitter to justify the $180 you just put down but nothing else!!!!

you also have to remember what type of radio you have and where you are. I have a pioneer premier in my car and the super tuner on those have better reception than whatever pretty much any car comes with. At night, it will be better. In less populated areas, it will be better. Ect
