FYI...New at 2 Date is a "hard" Date

I was very disappointed, but not surprised given their reputation, that VZN did not allow me to exercise my "New at 2" option on a Q, eleven (11) days before my actual "new at 2" date! Since I've been a subscriber since the days of US West and Airtouch, I would be interested in hearing how that action supports VZN's definition of customer service.

The last time i upgraded with NE2 the actual date was 22 months from when i signed the previous contract, is the date they gave you 22 months of 24 after you last upgrade?

well not exactly.... 🤣 🤣
I last used my upgrade on 12/24/2005 I bought a nokia 6256i on a 2yr contract. technically this would not make me eligible for upgrade til 10/24/007 but because I'm apart of the v710 lawsuit thing. my upgrade date was moved forward to 04/01/06 even though my NE2 date is 10/24/2007

so I'm an extreme case where it is different but in general upgrades are only given every 22 months(to the day) also things to note NE2 changed recently if your plan is 34.99-79.98 you only get 50.00 off the phone and if your 79.99+ you'll get 100.00 also there is something called early upgrades you need to be on a plan 59.99 or more for at least three months and you'll be able to get upgrade pricing + 20.00(don't quote me ...

Your upgrade is indeed 22 months in a 24 month contract. Also, your NE@ discount cannot be exercised early b/c the computer will not process it. In fact, the computer will not process upgrades early at all, those of us that are willing to do that for our customers have to go back in on that particular customers upgrade date and process it then so we can be paid. Unitl that point a simple ESN change was done to activate the new phone.

Thank you for your response to my message... actually the thread I started. Not surprisingly, the corporate folks are not motivated to be as customer oriented as the front line sales consultants.

Just found out that my date is 22 months after the last contract so I guess I was pushing it a little.

I understand. But interestingly enough, the customer service agent I spoke with indicated that this was a decision that was beyond her authority, and had to be made by her supervisor, so she put me on hold to pursue with the supervisor. When she came back she indicated that the request had been denied by her supervisor, and I would have to wait the 11 days to get the NE2 pricing. Just seems short sighted to me.

IT is...if there is an authorized retailer in your area I would go there and get it done. I workd for Cellular Sales and could get it done for you (if we had the Q in stock in my market). I would simply ESN change and then 11 days later I would process your upgrade to get paid. Hope this helps you. Sorry about corporate customer service, I know how you feel I get to talk to them everyday. It is process over people thinking over there.
