I just confirmed. $199 for new customers, $299 for existing. WHAT BS!

I called Verizon Customer service to ask why I paid $299 and not $199. they told me cause I was an existing customer. She verified to me several times that the $199 price is only for new customers. Thats total BULLSHT! I am livid at VZW now. I have been a customer since 1998 when it was Bell Atlantic. So the dedicated paying loyal customers that tell all their friends to get VZW cause of the great cell service have to pay more!

As soon as I get my order, I will use it for the 15 days then return it. Give em back an abused and used phone. I will wait til the B2B site offers it to me for less or I will not get it again at all and wait for Sprint. I have pretty much had it with VZW.

Good riddence! They are the communist carrier.

Thanks for the info on your ability to get the $199 pricing. I printed out the press release from your link and I will bring to a VZW store after I get my Q to get a credit. I dont wanna call in and replace my order right now jeopardizing my place in line for the Q.

I am wondering if VZW started to see an increased demand in the Q from Forums like these and then figured to leave the price alone for current VZW customers. They figured "Why not, those dumb customers of ours will pay the $299. Heck, they would propbably pay $399. Lets stick it to them and increase our margins!"

its is an add on code for people with PDA and the unlimted data plan it provides 2000 txt allowence per month for free. It is only there because of the limitations on exchange 2003.. For push email to work correctly the exchange server sends a txt to the phone for each new email telling the phone to update itself. if this code isn't included you can rack up a lot of txt charges

Maybe someone should educate Verizon on this plan. The "supervisor" that I spoke with never heard of it. 🙄

I'll wait until I get the phone and call back for data support to see what I can get from them. 2000 free sounds a whole lot better that 8 bucks for 100.

I tried this tactic and didn't get far with it. I escalated to a supervisor and got the same story. They interpret the press release to say that it has to be a "new" 2 yr contract, not an existing one. Even though it doesn't say that..."it's implied".

I was able to get the phone at $299 though. They excellerated my 2yr upgrade to give me a $100 discount.

Unfortunatley, they were not able to process the order with the same 1350+data bundle (technical difficulties) so I was given a package of 79.99 for 1350 mins and 44.99 for data (he says he will personally credit my account the difference when the bill comes in - I'll be the girl turning blue in the corner) and the guy never heard of PDA SMS 2000, so I am paying $7.99 for 100 text msg...

I sware its amazing that these telesales people are even trained. I mean its all in the system and its all documented.. I have to feature codes and everything. the first two people I talked to said they couldn't find the PDA SMS thing. and then the one was like oh there it is.. just where I told him it was... I wish the sales people were more trained when it comes to new promotions instead of just sending an email that none of them ever read

Thanks for $199 link. Took me an hour to get them give me $100 off. Actually, they didn't, they charged me $299 for the phone, but gave me a $100 credit from my bill. VZW customer service sucks.

This might help a few people out there who are looking for an EARLY UPGRADE...According to my exisiting plan, I dont qualify for the New-Every-Two until September 22, 2006 but i called VZW Customer Service and asked for the supervisor and told them that my current phone was acting up and this was was my third phone and even though i had insurance and a VZ customer for over 4 years, I would rather renew my contract and get a new phone instead of going through the third-party insurance and get a refurbished phone w/ a $50.00 deductable. I was approved BUT I was not going to get the $100.00 towards the new phone but I got that by selecting the DATA CHOICE 450 CORE BUNDLE anyways i clarified with the reps and they said the NEW-EVERY-TWO and the ...

I was actually trying to do an early upgrade overthe phone with customer service today for the q, but they advised me that since i would need to complete a new contract for the upgrade, that by the time they would mail it to me it would be more worth it for me to just wait until the stores got it?
any suggestions?

I just got off the phone with VZW about the $299 I paid on line. All I told the Customer Service rep was that I am calling cause I think I was overcharged on line. He looked up my order number and right away he apologized and mentioned that I should have received $100 off for the data plan (I never even had a chance to mention that to him yet) and he quickly made a notation into the system to credit me back $100. He says I should see it within 5 days. He says he doesnt know why the internet orders were not showing the $100 discount. (I didnt even ask).

I just wanna hit my Staples Button now: "THAT WAS EASY!"

On an even better note, my original family share plan is now extended 2 years from today. Thats 1000 min for my original mont...
