New Every Two = Worthless

This bothers me. From what I've been hearing, I won't be able to use my "New Every Two" to knock an extra hundred bucks off of this phone...

I'll be getting the voice and data plan, plus I've had my current phone for over two years. One would think that I'd be able to get this Q for 99 bucks if I sign up for the data plan, but no?

So then what good is my current "new every two" if I can't use it on the phone I want to get after two years? That sucks...

You remind me of the old story about the guy who was complaining he hadn`d found enough money in the wallet on the street...

it`s 200 for crying out loud!

And your point is.. ????

It's more about corporations advertising a feature to gain your business and then figuring out a way not to perform on what they promised. For us new every two is worthless. I had moved two lines from ATT to VZW in part because of the Bluetooth functionality. It is frustrating that the court did not rule to refund the price of the phone without condition. I have remained a customer and in accordance with the agreement have earned the credit they advertised. I with the others should be awarded it. You are right ...

Can I ask you something? What in Bill Gates`s name are you talking about??? Maybe you should spend a minute of your time and read the post. This guy was complaining about the fact that he couldn`t receive 2 discounts at once. And my answer was that the price is better then expected anyways.

Do you even read what you type?

And what, precisely, makes you think that I bring in SO much bank that I'm just gonna kick back and say, "meh, I didn't really WANT that extra hundred bucks."

The fact is, Verizon has a policy that says, "100 dollars every two years" and as far as I can tell, I won't be able to take advantage of that policy, which was a big reason that I sat on my busted a670 for the last 6 months.

And that sucks.

Who told you that you'll be eligible for both discounts?

I didn't say you are not eligible for NE2 $100. It says "up to 100 dollars every two years". You are gonna get your $100. So, what's your point again? The fact that you cannot combine 2 discounts? Was it promised to you?

the $100 instant credit for signing up for a data plan doesn't stack with the ne2 discount.

the phone is $299/2yr. if you have ne2, you will receive it for $199 regardless of data of data plans.

it's the data discount you can't use, not the ne2.
ne2 supersedes the data credit.

so according to the announcement on vz-dub's site:
$199 w/ ne2 (any plan)
$299 w/ new/renew & w/o data
$199 w/ new line & adding unlimited data.

keep in mind that early upgrade, & secondary lines cannot receive the data discount.

Exactly! One cannot combine the two offers! One should not be able to combine them. Take two Domino's coupons and try to use them both on the same pizza and they will laugh you out of their establishment. This sort of garbage is why AT&T went under (Six month early upgrades and the like). Always trying to get over on someone.

It's quite obvious that VZW is using the Q to attract NEW customers... and rightfully so. I don't have a problem with it. I have NE2 and I am ecstatic that I can get this phone for only $199. Businesses use discounts all the time to attract new customers. Try getting a "new customers only" offer out of Direct TV.
