Not going to happen until end of 3rd Qtr, 1st of 4th qtr. Straight from VZW employees.

I guarantee those employees don't know what they're talking about... I spoke with a Motorola rep who had the phone on him and let me play with it. He said, end of April, but again... we have to remember that the biggest reason it's so difficult to get a release date from someone, is because it's based on the phone testing successfully before going to market.

By the way VZW employees aren't given corporate info, I know because I used to retail VZW phones and we were told nothing except VZW hasn't given us that info. If a VZW employee told you something he probably read it here

Reports indicate that the Q will be available in April, which is in the second quarter or first half of 2006. Hopefully it will come out next month.

I tired of waiting for the Q and opted for the Treo 700. While I am sure the Q will be a great device when it is finally released, my old phone was on its last leg and I could not afford to wait indefinitely. As you all will recall, the original date was pre year end 2005, then January 2006, then by end of Q1 (which the Moto CEO guaranteed) and now 1st half 2006. Sounds like testing and/or QA/production problems to me. I have used moto products for over ten years and think they are great overall. However, with the Q, I am concerned that they will have a number of bugs to resolve with the early phones. The Treo is a more known quantity from a hardware point of view. In addition, the Treo offers certain features that I like. For instan...

I am with you tdavism3! Can't wait either. I checked the 700 out yesterday and I'll be getting it next weekend. What are your thoughts on a bluetooth headset? I heard that some models are not too compatible with the 700. Do you know of any models that are sure fire? Good luck!

The only headsets I can stand to use on any device is the BT250, BT250V, or BT500 from Jabra. I have sold them with the 700 and all my customers love them. There are a couple plantronics headsets that are alright but the design of the Jabra series is by far the best IMO. I tried the Moto being is that I only purchase moto phones and hated the feel of the headset and almost lost it once. The only problem I have seen with this design over the others is that it doesn't offer as much wind protection for the mic so if your outside a lot forget it. I have one customer that swears by these headsets and has went to radioshack and purchased those little foam boom covers and uses that to get better wind protection.

Realistically the treo 700w stand to be a better choice only because if we all will remember every time moto has promised us something we got it like a year later. The Q will be an excellent device if for nothing other than size+windows OS but the treo 700w is already out and working. Slight info, the bluetooth chip does not necesarily dictate compatibility, whether it's 1.1 or 1.2 does as well as the OS most phones have limited compatibility as well as linux and palm, wmos has a general compatibility but certain brands can cause glitches, i.e. nokia likes nokia, moto like moto, etc. with jabra, plantronics, logitech, creative, cardo, bluespoon they strive for compliance as they are 3rd party and make more money if they don't lean towards ce...

I want to wait for the Moto miniblue H5. It looks great and has an interesting feature set. As of today, I have not yet bought a headset.

The FCC will make public photos and user's manuals on or after 4/28/06. Therefore it will probably hit the market by then.
