V3i Picture Resolution question

New phone out of the box and when I change the camera resolution to "High" and try to take a picture the message says "Insert memory card and change storage device"..shouldn't I be able to at least take one 1.2 megapixel picture using the camera memory? Or do you have to have a card installed for this higher resolution to work?

I can't take a picture on phone memory! Use a memory card!! Only takes pictures of 1.2 MP if memory card is availavle!
