Deleting Text Messages (Issue?)

Quad900

May 4, 2006, 10:09 PM
Hello,

I was just wondering if there was a simple option to delete ALL text message inbox messages. I know that there is the option to "mark and delete" messages... but i usually have a full 190 messages in the inbox and it is annoying to need to do that. Also, another solution would be to make the warning message go away that says " Your inbox will be full in X messages." I cant find a way to do either... Help?

If you select options, erase, then it will ask erase this, erase read, erase all. On a related issue. My inbox has been full since a few days after I got the phone in Dec. It has always gave me the warning message saying messages oldest will be deleted. However the other day I got a text message and it said "memory full message message rejected." I just let it go then it said it again a minute later. I deleted like 50 messages from my inbox fiqured that would work. But it didnt and i keep getting that error message. Finally ive cleared everything out of the inbox and outbox and i has been working since. However I have not filled my inbox yet. This happen to anyone else????

you have to set auto-erase in settings and it will automatically erase the oldest message when a new one comes in

Thats what it was set too. And it thats what it was doing for over 4 months. Then that one day it just stopped and gave me the error message. Talked to my techs here in the store. Its not a known issue.

I've had the exact same problem with my A900. I even exchanged my first one out, which suffered other problems as well, and my new one does the same thing. Auto-erase is and was always turned on, but once the inbox reached some certain point (and it wasn't a consistent number), it would reject incoming messages. All I could do was wait, and after hours they would come in all at once. I have updated the software, deleted my inbox when I get the first message that it's almost full, all to no avail. I'd like to know why it does this, and so randomly. It's very frustrating..

If you restart your phone, it will clear the memory and you'll get your messages sooner.

That happens on my phone. It's a strange problem. It doesn't happen a lot, but when it does, you can get your messages right away.

Turn off the phone. (Don't bother taking the battery out) Turn it back on, send a text message to yourself. Then you will get the text you sent to yourself, and all the texts recieved when you got that error.

They should fix that.

yes, it's simple, you select all and it'd done, takes 2 seconds.

when u select erase from your inbox, you get three options:

1. Erase This
2. Erase Read
3. Erase All

Select ERASE ALL and all unlocked text messages in your inbox are gone.
