Can't get PC Studio to recognize USB connection

This is really frustrating as I keep all of my contacts in Outlook.

I cannot get PC Studio to recognize that the phone is connected via USB. Windows XP sees it, but PC Studio.

Anyone have a clue?

Unless I set the phone's USB settings to "Modem" instead of "Mass Storage" ....but then the Syncronize Icon becomes disabled...WTF?

Alright, in case anyone else has trouble with this, here is the scoop.

You have to go into the phone settings and nav to USB Settings and select Modem instead of Mass Storage. Now you should see that the PC Studio software has connected to the phone. Personally, I think Modem is a bit misleading, but what can you do?

Anyway - despite what the Help section in the software says, this software will not syncronize with the phone. You can only push info to it or from it, nothing automatic like the Nokia software. So, first open Manage Contacts and More and then File/Import off of the menu. The wizard will guide you through finding what you are trying to import. Were you able to transfer all of your contacts ?

I get stuck after just a few...

According to Samsung, these contacts have invalid characters. So I am supposed to edit all contacts and delete these characters or delete the contact !!

NOT PRACTICAL

Yes, I was able to transfer all of my contacts, but no street addresses which is a bummer.
