Endless Trouble Downloading

I took the advice given on this board, and tried downloading the free messaging service "Agile." I downloaded Agile from a free site, and upon finishing I recieved this message. " 'download' is not a valid Pocket PC application."

I run a Mac at home, so I don't have the ability to sync up outside of making the software purchase for The Missing Sync or others...that being said, I've tried endlessly to get a single MP3 file from my iTunes onto my Pocket PC.

On my mac, I attached the MP3 to an email...sent it to myself. Then, from my Pocket PC I opened the email and downloaded the attachment to which I recieved this response. "The file 'kanye' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its compo...

Thanks for responding to me, I tried DLing the TCPMP program, and it said that it's not a valid Pocket PC application....just like everything else I've downloaded onto my phone.

...I'm getting to the point of wondering what is Sprint or Best Buy's policy about returning a phone due to dissatisfaction? I really want this phone to work out, but nothing is working out with it.

DL:

You're pretty much my only hope with this, Sprint is taking me absolutely no where...and you seem to know your stuff. So here is a specific instance of a problem.

I found a free AIM download, I downloaded the 5.6mb 'aim.exe' file, and chose not to run it upon complete. After it completed downloading, I closed out of my IE and went to the File Explorer, there was the program little running man and all at the bottom of my files (Business, Calls, Dictionaries, etc, etc.) I scrolled down, and clicked on it...and recieved this...." 'aim' is not a valid Pocket PC application." I've gotten this message over and over again, for Agile, for TCPMP, for MP3 files...everything. It's driving me insain.

To say I'd be greatful for an en...

I hope that by now you have discovered that files must be downloading to PC and installed via your data link and not directly from the phone itself.

....Nah, I kind of just gave up. When I called Sprint, the guy told me (off the record) that I could by some adapter thing for my memory card.

That's really unclear, but when he explained it I envisioned a USB-like cord with a slot to insert my card and upload the files from my Mac. Have u ever heard of anything like this?

Hrmm.. I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to do but I know that the miniSD card typically requires an adaptor to be read by the standard size SD readers... You most likely would have the same issue to install/run applications that were not developed to be executed from the PocketPC.. these would require Active Sync.. I've read that this can be sometimes bypassed by extracting the .cab setup files but I haven't had the chance to mess wit it much... It would be very useful to have an app that could do this but I haven't come across anything (free) that does this....

Okay, here's the deal. If you purchased your music from a legal site (i.e. napster or itunes), you will not be able to play the .wma files on your 6700. It will not recognize the format and I know the manual says that it will. I bought a program called tunebite (via internet download) that allows you to legally modify the file to .mp3. Once you do this, all the songs play. Also look out for how the song is named..if it has weird characters like an underscore or quotes, or if its simply too long, it won't play. You have to rename the file in windows and it will play. Don't give up, I use it as an .mp3 player and it works great.

Does this mean it will work as long as you purchase PocketMac software for sync?

Does PocketMac make a 6700-compatible version?
