Java applet for PPC-6700

I would like to buy the PPC-6700 (Sprint) and use it in conjunction with an address similiar to http://70.107.225.104/index.html . This site works with Java applet. If you click on control on the top of the page, you can pan, tilt, and zoom a camera in New York City. I understand you can use Thunderhawk 2.1 pocket PC edition (http://bitstream.com/wireless/products/pocke tpc/index.html),
which offers a free trial version. Possibly you can also use Netfront or something else as well. If someone has Thunderhawk or any other software, could you let me know how well it works (cell as well as Wi-Fi); possibly how many frames per second, and how responsive the camera is with pan, tilt and zooming. Thanks a bunch !!

There is a plug in called. Jeode, that allows java. I went to that site on my 6600 and was able to view the cameras. I was not able to control them though. I havent tried that site on my 6700 yet. I just got it the other day.

Hi Eric. Thanks for all the info. Did you get a live video feed or was it just still frames on the 6600. If live video feed, about how many frames per second ? Have you tried this ip address with your 6700 yet ? Could you control camera with 6700 ? Would love to stay in touch with you regarding this phone as I would like to buy it...but it needs to work with this kind of application. Please read the other comment that someone wrote regarding java. I really do not understand it, as I am not "tech-saavy". You can always e-mail me direct at gregoryleoni@yahoo.com

I went to try it out last night but couldnt connect to the site on my phone or my home pc. Maybe it was down. On the 6600 you couldnt control anything. The camera did change though. It was slow though. Maybe once every couple of seconds. I am sure it would be quicker if it works on the 6700 w/ev-do or wi-fi. If you want. Go to www.pdaphonehome.com .....They have a forum for the 6600 and 6700. There are alot of people who have thunderhawk there. They can test it with that browser for you. I do not have a need to pay a monthly fee for a browser. I can get to the sites I use most using pie. But if I had a need for it I guess I would pay for it. Let me know if I can help you out with anything else. Or if there is another site you want me to chec...

Ok, here is what I got. First off, when I went to that address it came up with a bunch of frames and didnt load the java applet. I then went to 70.107.225.103 without the home endings. It let me pick view with camera control and view without. First I clicked on view without. My java program loaded the camera fine. It was about a frame a second. Then I tried the camera with control. The camera loaded fine but there might have been a problem with the page because the camera just kept repeating the same two frames. Then I touched the picture and it said pan and tilt not available with that camera. So I do not know if it was the page or PIE. But I know for a fact, without the java applet I have the cameras would not load at all. When I get a ch...

Hi Eric.
Again, thanks for th research ! FYI, this particular camera does not have pan and tilt on it...it only has zoom. Did the zoom work ? The other ip address i sent you earlier had pan tilt and zoom. Are you using Sprint service with EV-DO ? I went to the site you told me about earlier. Do the comments posted on that site in response to my question make any sense to you ? ....A little over my head. I just want something that works. I e-mailed several times Thunderhawk to see if their product will work. Never a response back which leads me to believe it will not. There is another video you can try that has pan tilt and zoom and I feel the 6700 will be able to handle it a little more easily. The address is http://benbird.homeip.net/...
