How to disconnect from Cingular/Edge internet service

I'm sure it's something very easy and obvious that I'm missing, but I'll ask anyway. When I open IE to go online the phone connects with Cingular's internet service. I get done and close IE, but the phone shows that it's still connected to Cingular. How do I end this connection?

I experienced the same thing. I had to turn the phone off to get it to disconnect. The has to be a simple way, you would think. Maybe I will call data support. 😳

On the 8125, hold the "End" button for about 5-10 seconds and it shuts off, hope that helps 🙂

Switchfront hit it right on the head. Just to add, being connected to EDGE does not really mean you are being billed for the data services.You only get charged for the actual amount of data that you send when accessing websites, sending email. etc. This is applies to Cingular, I'm not sure if the same with other carrier. I
