Motorola V540

I'm trying to purchase a Motorola V540 phone. The cellular web site does not offer it, calling cellar is not much help, they advise me to purchase it from a store, yet I can't find it at any store. The Motorola web site lists only cellular, but purchase though stores that also don't carry the phone. Motorola will sell the phone through their call in center, but only locked. I need an unlocked phone for travel internationally. Would appreciate any advice, thanks
