Can anyone tell me accurately if the Cingular versions of this phone are shipping with Mobile 5.0 or if it has an upgrade to 5.0 available?

It comes with 2003 SE. Right now they are saying there will be no upgrade, but we have to wait and see.

I came across interesting information since posting. I haven't confirmed it yet but heard teh Mobil 5.0 requires 128 MB of ROM and therefor wont work the HW series.

I hope I am wrong.

what I was told today was that if you buy now when the new version comes out that HP will replace the unit.

how good is this information? did HP actually say this somewhere on paper? the phone cost enough and not having the ability to upgrade to the wm5 totally sucks. if the memory was upgraded through pocketpctechs.com, would it be feasible to upgrade to the new os?

i use the phone with 2003SE, trust me, you dont NEED WM5 (even though i concede it WOULD be cool) i run every program i need... an update to this phone will have WM5 and more memory and wi-fi it will be the 6715 however it will lose the full size SD slot :-(

i have a question off this subject. would you know if my hw6515 can be used as a navigating system. i know it has gps, but i'm not sure exactly how to make it work with my pocket streetmaps. i don't care if it doesn't have voice. i just need to know how i can set it up. thanks.
