HELP

So, I have an lg vx-5200 Verizon phone. My LG has won't charge any more. You know the goldie things or chip of where you plug the adapter to? Well a couple of them broken off. I was just curious if any LG users have tried repairing this themselves? Is it easy? Should I do it? I have a newer LG phone, and am thinking of putting that chip into this cell phone.
